About this deal

With the enclosed measuring strip, it can be checked whether there is enough air in the air chambers or whether one of them still needs to be pumped up.

Inflating them was not only a little tedious, but also a bit fiddly, as the air always escaped quickly before the valve was closed. It is not a performance piece and certainly won’t look to break any records but it felt extremely stable and easy to control. The Intex Excursion Pro looks quite similar to the Explorer K2 but here there are especially differences regarding material and quality. I have only had one outing, the Kennet and Avon canal, but like you I plan to get in some coastal paddling as well, when conditions are suitable of course.Be also careful outside the water with the kayak that there are no sharp stones or branches on the ground. This saves a lot of space when disassembled, but the double paddles also make a somewhat wobbly impression with a total of 3 plug-in connections. The Velcro strip on the floor and the seat straps are long enough so that you can position the front seat sufficiently far back or in the middle of the kayak. For a budget inflatable canoe I was very impressed with how this little boat handled - it did feel much more like a real kayak and cut through the water quite well (for an inflatable). Nevertheless, a reasonable paddle is possible, although the footrest would be missing on longer tours in the long run.

What’s even crazier is that this week marks exactly 6 years since I first bought my two Intex Challenger K1 kayaks*, and I’m very happy to say that they’ve lasted really well and I’m excited to continue using them this summer. Behind the seat there is not too much space and of course it is also difficult to reach even while paddling. Start with the inside hole (which pumps up the base of the kayak), and then go for the outside hole which pumps up the outer part of the kayak. To give some context, I am a 5’6″ female weighing around 9 stone, and I have never fallen out of this kayak, or even had any experiences where I felt like I was going to, even in slightly choppier waters. Constructed of only a 30-gauge PVC vinyl, this tandem feels like a short step from your average pool floaties.
