About this deal

The game also includes items you can equip to your heroes, 1V1 challenge cards, and roll modifiers to tip the odds in your favour.

Each battle is a fairer and a more exciting contest- each little army is full of more exciting characters- and it’s a better two-player AND large group game. However, I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi.

Druid Deer protect your army, such as ‘Maegisty’ and ‘Doe Fallow’ … took me too long to figure that one out. Here to Slay is a competitive role-playing fantasy strategy card game that's all about assembling a party of Heroes and slaying monsters (and sometimes sabotaging your friends too) from the creators of Unstable Unicorns. The new heroes are just as cute and amusing as their original predecessors and add great new powers to your army. If they win the challenge, they still get to play their card, but if you win the challenge, you get to send their card directly to the discard pile! My wife and I regularly play this game with just the two of us, at which point it’s actually entirely possible for someone to draw four or five different classes off the bat and for the other player not to draw the interactive cards needed to slow them down.

You may find cards / sets you and your friends enjoy playing with and stick with it as there are now ( since the games original release ) a plethora of additional cards choose from. Item, Challenge and Modifier cards can all be played at any point during the game to either aid you in your quest or to disadvantage your “friends” preventing them from winning the game. It is one of those games where I feel like I could easily explain to others that had not played before. Unfortunately – like Unstable Unicorns – Here to Slay can still feel a little chaotic, and there’s the problem of the game’s length being hugely variable, which speaks to poor game balance design in my opinion. It’s one of my go-to casual games and a great option when my wife and I want to have fun with a board game that doesn’t require too much time or brain power.

Whether you need to recover from a low roll or sabotage the high roll of an opponent, modifier cards can be a handy tool when luck doesn't seem to be on your side.

Here to Slay suffers from the perennial card game issue of randomness potentially delivering big swings, especially at lower player counts. Turns proceed and players scrap over each other’s sets before eventually, someone hits one of the win conditions and ends the game.

I tend to remove and separate the expansions and place them in to their own containers, then save the game to reload for future use. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Unlike winning with hero cards, which can be destroyed or stolen by other players, once you’ve defeated a monster there is nothing that anyone can do to take it away from you.In this festive Here to Slay expansion pack, you’ll find new card types, fun holiday artwork, and a brand new win condition! You can’t really plan ahead because, at any moment, a failed die roll or unexpected card from an opponent could derail your plans. Whether you enjoy fighters, bards, wizards, or thieves, you'll find a party leader that's right for your play style - but choose wisely, because you only get one party leader for the whole game!
