This is the new V3 version of the high end HiFi Man HE-1000 Planar Magnetic headphones, combining ultra high performance, sensitivity and experience.

Anyway, these headphones are thinked for sedantary use since it's fully open back and leak alot, i mean ALOT of sound.With electronica their lighter than air vibrating membrane responds to tiny timbral shifts yeilding expressive complexities where before there was banal interdental gap filling. HE1KS has more lower mids fullness, presence and warmth, vocal and instrument are more bodied and foward yet less sharp in upper mids so smoother, creamier, more colorfull than hyper-realisticaly textured. Those note hit without edgy brightness to definition, its smoothly rounded and dense in it's release that envelope the listener with colorful resonance highlining tone color with air vibrancy. Whatever the range of singer I listen too, from Agnes Obel breathy vocal to soprano like Arianna Savall, I enjoy pure intimate bliss which captivate the attention and trigger high level of emotional response. The only drawback is possibly that you can't very easily wear them while jogging up underground escalators.

The more money you sunk into a Hifiman, the better it would do this department, which seems to be the case with the HE1000 Stealth. Drums sounds accurate, well textured, well detailed, and aren't a bloaty mess like other bass-emphasized Hifiman's (Edition XS) get. I wonder if he got a bad HE1000Stealth, because mine is a lot less bright (still f'ing bright though - just not to that extreme) than his measurements showed, and every other measurement of it has smooth treble from 3-5khz.The grill is made of metal too and it's thick one, not light alluminium prompt to vibration that could create unwanted distortion (like the Grado grill). The HE-1000 Stealth doesn’t have the HD 800 squareness, it stays faithful to its foundation, but there is no relaxing anymore.

The kick drum doesnt feel flat at all, its round and thumpy with a natural presentation, in the track Influxius by Aki Rissanen we never struggle finding the kick drum presence even if it's softed a bit in presence definition edge. Absolutely horrific treble (peaks above 10k even) which was fixed greatly with the revision sometime in 2020.

The headphones have changed 5 times so far; It sounds like a completely different unit from the first 40 hours.
