This could’ve made tarin feel betrayed as his rider was evil and draining, which made tarin not want to bond. That venin bomb gets dropped on Violet after the second-biggest reveal in the book: Xaden does have a second signet, and it’s the only one that can get you killed.

Fourth Wing was definitely more of an all vibes, no worldbuilding kind of book, so I’m glad that Yarros delves deeper into the world in Iron Flame. To Yarros’s surprise, her publisher, Entangled, loved the idea, and wanted to launch a new fantasy imprint with it.
