Restoration (2022, 11 minutes) catches up with production designer Eugenio Zanetti and art director Larry Lundy as they share their inspirations from Greek myths. Written and directed by Wong Jing, 1986’s Magic Crystal stars Andy Lau as Andy and Wong Jing himself as Pancho, two freelance special agents that wind up being hired by the Hong.Surprisingly enough, it works, and after Nelson proves that it can be done, the other four start wondering if they shouldn't take the trip themselves. Arrow is using an all-new 4K restoration performed by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment that was sourced from the 35mm original camera negative. dba Freestar (“Freestar”) for the purposes of placing certain advertising on the site, and Freestar will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes. For Rachel, her atonement is not from herself, rather it takes the form of realizing that it wasn’t actually her fault that her father killed himself. They're involved in some unorthodox experiments spearheaded by Nelson in which they will work together to find out what is out there after we die.

Rounding out the group is Steckle (Oliver Platt, Lake Placid), the voice of reason who wants to support his friends, and yet his biggest risks remain rooted in academia. All those neons now have real depth and it really does add to the look and sound of the film giving greater clarity and depth to the many night time scenes.Known for his impressively eclectic filmography and for helping to launch the careers of several young Hollywood stars of the 80s and 90s, Joel Schumacher (The Lost Boys, St. Medical students experiment on "near death" experiences that involve past tragedies until the dark consequences begin to jeopardize their lives.

Challenging Nelson for both the leadership and the girl is Labraccio, played by the always-watchable Kevin Bacon ( Tremors). Yes, it’s dark and there are a lot of shadows, but in what is kind of a precursor to Schumacher’s Batman films there is a wide spectrum of colors on display and even during the film’s darkest moments those vivid colours effortlessly leap from the screen. This doesn't necessarily diminish the plot but is able to offer up some truly horrific images and scenarios, mainly for Nelson and Rachel. Directed by Joel Schumacher in 1990, Flatliners follows five students enrolled in medical school: Nelson (Kiefer Sutherland), Doctor Rachel McMannus (Julia Roberts), David Labraccio (Kevin Bacon), Doctor Joe Hurley (William Baldwin), and Randy Steckle (Oliver Platt).They are, of course, aided by the undeniably stylish and visual panache of cinematographer Jan de Bont, whose work on this production perfectly complements Schumacher's captivating camerawork, saving the picture's thematic idealism from flatlining with routine genre cliches. The bonus features included with the release are identical in either format, matching in everything from audio and on-disc materials to booklet and cover art (per the press notes). She’s the only one who flatlines that isn’t possessed by inner demons of her own making, meaning that she’s more of an angelic figure within the group. The round trip to the great beyond is intriguing, but I'm surprised the majority of the characters are so shallow in their reasons for experimenting. Extras start off with a new audio commentary by critics Bryan Reesman and Max Evry that covers all the bases, going over the history of the production and spending a fair bit of time covering Schumacher’s career up to this point.
