About this deal

Like a team of supervisors in your pocket, this book will provide you with the tips and tools for a successful dissertation. I have completed my SR now and it passed with a very high grading and I know that I would not have achieved this had I not had this book as a resource. It provides detailed information in accessible language presented in bite-sized chunks and thus can be used as a staged guide throughout the process. Although it is more suitable for quantitative studies, it has still applied to my qualitative-based systematic review, so I would recommend it to anyone, no matter their background.

Throughout the book, the authors make extensive use of questions posed by real students when carrying out reviews to help you through some of the challenges you may face. Rumona Dickson has been involved in the conduct of systematic reviews in health care for over 20 years and has been the Director of LRiG since 2001. Gemma Cherry is a Lecturer in Clinical Health Psychology at the University of Liverpool and an honorary clinical psychologist (oncology) at Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

Angela Boland has worked at LRiG (Liverpool Reviews and Implementation Group) since it was established in 2001 and has carried out many systematic reviews of both clinical effectiveness and cost effectiveness of health care interventions. It's an easy-to-read, confidence-giving book which I've read most of ( bad grammar there lol but I mean up to where I'm 'at' with my systematic review) and have referred back to when I've reached the "OMG! So far I have only written my systematic review protocol, so I've only needed the first couple of chapters, but I'll definitely be using this book to guide me through the whole process!
