About this deal

I think this is a great choice for anyone who has a kid that likes all things scary, but you still want to emphasize being kind to others.

This experience has been fantastic primarily for the children, the school and also for me (professionally). The brand-new picture book from superstar author and illustrator Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler is a riot of slapstick fun and silliness. Room On The Broom will always be my favorite book from this team (Axel Scheffler's illustrations couldn't be more wonderful) but this book about three baddies trying to bully, scare, and magic a blue spotted hanky from a new little girl in the neighborhood is right up there. My novel The Giants and the Joneses is going to be made into a film by the same team who made the Harry Potter movies, and I have written three books of stories about the anarchic Princess Mirror-Belle who appears from the mirror and disrupts the life of an otherwise ordinary eight-year-old. I haven't charted out my visits for the summer term, but I'm sure there are several in the south) and thanks so much for being so fantastic!I have even talked the head into a little revamp of the library so that we can display them properly!

Of course, the little mouse saves the day and rids the woods of our pesky villains, and we all sleep more soundly at night. Axel Scheffler was recommended as an illustrator for the text and an award-winning team was created. When a scary, fire-breathing dragon comes to visit, it's up to the damsel to take charge of her story and save the day for everyone. Join the baddies in this wickedly fun sticker activity book based on the original story by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, creators of Zog and Room on the Broom.

One of my television songs, A SQUASH AND A SQUEEZE, was made into a book in 1993, with illustrations by the wonderful Axel Scheffler. Published just in time for Halloween, I had great hopes for this story featuring a ghost and a witch (and a troll). Axel has achieved worldwide acclaim for his humorous illustrations, and his books have been translated into over 29 languages. I really enjoy getting the children in the audience to help me act out the stories and sing the songs. Best known for her collaborations with Axel Scheffler, each of these vivid rhyming stories is a triumph of imagination.

But long before he began his professional life, he had won his first drawing prize for an international chocolate company – his prize was a cuddly lilac cow. A little Halloweeny and a lot of fun, this picture book of three "baddies" (a witch, a troll, and a ghost) is great to read aloud. It’s a fantastic independent book seller that will actually be responsive and select appropriate books for you. They are always so much fun to read with the little people in my life and the illustrations are always bright, cheerful and fun. After all, the witch longs to make magic, while the ghost plans to haunt her and the troll has plans for ‘ his big bulgy belly‘! When a little girl moves into a nearby cottage, the Baddies can't wait to scare her out of her wits.

More about Julia: “I grew up in a tall Victorian London house with my parents, grandmother, aunt, uncle, younger sister Mary and cat Geoffrey (who was really a prince in disguise. Though there are "baddies" who try to scare the girl and turn her to stone, the girl is not at all bothered by them, so young readers will not be, either. This joyful picture book encourages children to imagine the world as a vast library, with room on the shelves for everybody's story. With Julia Donaldson’s (author of The Gruffalo) trademark quirky humour and rhyming text and Axel Scheffler’s detailed illustrations, there are lots of fun things to spot as you read and reread the text. Knowing that he wanted to live in another country and learn a second language, he moved to England to study illustration at the Bath Academy of Art.Julia Donaldson is the highly talented author of some of the best-loved children’s books in the world. With Donaldson’s heartwarming, inspirational messages about being brave and standing up to bullies, a wise and enchanting story in a rhyme perfectly created for reading aloud, and Scheffler’s stunning and richly detailed illustrations providing lots to spot on every page, this is a creative partnership made in children’s reading heaven! It's decent enough, with bright illustrations, some good rhymes and a brown skinned girl on the front (instead of the usual pink), but this is a mid-range effort in the Donaldson/Scheffler canon. With expressive, colorful illustrations and a rhyming story that's a delight to read aloud, this fun tale is a pitch-perfect story of bravery and heart. Your child will giggle their way through this comic tale of three very bad, silly, and completely hopeless storybook characters who dare each other to steal a hanky-chief from a young girl walking through their woods.
