The Animals produced some great album tracks, such as "I'm Mad Again" (originally by John Lee Hooker), "Worried Life Blues", and "Bury My Body". I asked her what other albums she thought I would like and was told that Animals was a great album, so I bought it for her to replace her damaged first pressing and give myself a reason to continue to explore their works properly. The album was developed from a collection of unrelated songs into a concept which describes the apparent social and moral decay of society, likening the human condition to that of animals.

Animals has never been as easy listen (it was never meant to be) but although no DSOTM or WYWH it does carry on the Floyd tradition of being strangely timeless. Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse. This vinyl has a very crisp clear sound and sounds good but to me personally l think it has lost some of its original warmth sound that the original recording had.

Music-wise; it's Animals by Pink Floyd, so proper rock (and the occasional swear word), but with a lot less sound effects compared to Dark Side. A must have for the Floyd aficionado, being the first actual "Remix" in the bands extensive discography. This reissue is a remaster of the original, and it's been lovingly produced by audio engineers who adored the original and it shows.

It was recorded at the band's Britannia Row Studios in London throughout 1976 and early 1977, and was produced by the band themselves. This new reissue has been remastered, and is pressed to 180g vinyl, and comes in a rather fetching package.

Although it’s been a long time since 1977, the narrative of the album still resonates today as our social and economic situation mirrors that of the time. The angst between Rick and Roger's deteriorating relationship at the time, the prequel to Ricks Absence from "The Final Cut" album, has been righted here, Rick's outstanding contributions to this are apparent even without an audiophiles ear.
