About this deal

I loved using the V860III off camera triggered by the Godox Xpro trigger for these shots of Lucy Lumen

The V860III (Zoom III R2 TTL) still has all the features existing users know and love, including a zoom mode (20mm to 200mm) for easy light range adjustments, -7 to 120-degree vertical angle adjustment, the built-in 2.4G Wireless X system allowing for seamless connectivity of multiple flash heads and Triggers like the X1, a High-Speed Sync (HSS) capable of shooting up to 1/8000s, FEC, FEB, and rear curtain sync modes. If you’re looking for a workhorse flash with a ton of features and a battery that just seems to keep going and going, the Godox V860 III is an excellent choice. The V860III features TTL, Manual and Multi-flash modes as well as functions like HSS (up to 1/8000 sec), FEC, FEB and second-curtain sync allowing you to fully realise your creativity. Along with full tilt and rotation control of the head, as you would expect, the body of the flash also features a forward-facing adjustable modelling light. This is a handy tool when composing your shot, but it isn’t bright enough to be used properly as a video light. Built-in with Godox 2.4G wireless X system, the V860Ill ensures a reliable shooting process with seamless connectivity. When using it off-camera, the V860III is also compatible with Godox X system triggers like X1, X2 and, so on. Transmitter & Receiver Flash

The build quality of the Godox V860 III is excellent. The flash feels sturdy and more durable in the hand than some smaller flashes. Having said that, I’ve never had any issues with the build quality of any Godox equipment. Specifications The V860III adds a switch that’s always within easy reach, so you can instantly switch between manual and TTL modes. The V860III provides an extremely smooth shooting experience.

I’ve concentrated on the new features for this review, as all of the standard features are just as you’d expect from Godox. All versions of the V860 III come with TTL, manual flash, high-speed sync up to 1/8000 second, rear-curtain sync, stroboscopic flash, flash exposure compensation, and autofocus assist beam for low lighting situations. The V860III features an improved, high-capacity, lithium-ion battery that is capable of fast charge times (maximum of 1.5 seconds) and up to 480 flashes at full power. The Godox V860III features a modelling light with a 10-step flash power adjustment so that it is easier for you to set up your shots.

Used as a dedicated flash, there is little to separate this from Sony’s offering but at half the price, and the same goes for the other manufacturers. Of course, this is no ProFoto A1 or Nikon SB-900 of Canon EL-1 this is very much mid-range. Those flashguns are at the next level up, but for most enthusiasts and semi-pro photographers, the Godox VING V860III SPEEDLIGHT will provide you with the quality of illumination you need. A modeling light has been added to the V860III speedlight, making easier to visualize the end result. With 10-step flash power adjustment, the V860III also provides better adaptation to any conditions with greater flexibility. My first impression of the Godox V860 III flash was very positive. Taking the flash out of the box, I did notice that it was slightly larger and heavier than some other Godox flashes I’ve used. The extra weight is probably due to the new rechargeable Lithium ION battery: the V860 III weighs in at 18.7oz (530g). The Godox VING V860III Speedlight Flash is an excellent mid-level hot shoe flash gun that will suit the needs of higher-end enthusiasts and semi-pro photographers. damage caused by external factors such as flooding with liquid, moisture, too high or too low temperature, atmospheric discharges, chemical agents, and other factors beyond the Guarantor's control

Another feature I like in this model is channel scan — this gives more reliable results in crowded places where other equipment might be using Wi-Fi. The flash scans all channels and chooses one that no one else is using - very clever. V860 III Versus V1 One of the things I love about Godox flashes is the ease with which you can set up transmitters and receivers. Using one flash or commander to trigger another off-camera flash is simple and takes seconds. The flash proves to be a powerful tool with a good even spread of light with decent control over the power and duration. The inclusion of the LED modelling light gives the flash an added boost, and the colour temperature remained constant throughout the test. B&H – B&H is a world renowned supplier of all the gear photographers, videographers, and cinematographers need and want to create their very best work.

The improved high-capacity lithium-ion battery supports your photographic journey with a fast charge time (1.5 seconds maximum) and 480 flashes at full power. The flash follows the traditional boxy hotshoe design and is available in dedicated fits for most of the major brands, including; Canon, Sony and Nikon; I’ve looked at the Sony version in this review. Aside from the power, the wireless connectivity options with the X1 wireless trigger and receivers add a further dimension to the use and it sync’d easily with the system. Being of the standard box style design, anyone familiar with a standard camera flash will recognise the main controls and features. There’s also plenty of adjustment in the angle of the head and it’s all of really high quality. Integrating transmitter and receiver in one flash, the V860III gives you the maximum flexibility and convenience to co-work with other flashes. What's in the Box
