About this deal

It kept me very entertained and I whizzed through it so it gets a good rating, but would I recommend it?

All of the characters are well fleshed, all very complex, Seb seemed the most straightforward and uncomplicated and the most likeable and dependable. Don't miss this utterly gripping and emotional thriller from Sunday Times bestselling author Susan Lewis! A well thought out and intruiging plot with several twists - I did however guess the main plot twist, but will give nothing away by saying anything further! The first half was slightly slow but I liked getting to know the characters and their dynamics - even though I didn’t find any of the characters super likeable!

The one thing I would say about this is I found it very predictable and it wasn’t that different to other thrillers I’ve read in the past. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. The mounting sense of a twist did keep me reading, but found this to be lacking in this author's normal high standards.

EXCERPT: I am staring at the TV where I've frozen the screen on a shot of Hanna and Jack in happier times.

As usual in my reviews, I will not rehash the publisher's synopsis, but instead recommend that you read this for yourself! The ending was mostly satisfying to me, though I didn’t think the mini twist on the last page was necessary. You are hooked on discovering everything the secrets that are holding and ultimately who is responsible for this unforseen tragedy.

I was really looking forward to reading this book as it has been a while since I’ve read any of her books. As a result, I am now the proud owner of four Kindles -- all different kinds, but plenty of back-ups!

It's almost a paraphrase of the title and that's because it's a very cleverly crafted plot, something I've not read the like of before. This story was very interesting, especially because the husband of one of my colleagues actually was “Riona”-like. Give me something with a well-defined storyline, add some suspense (or spice), and I am a happy reader.

With a solid cast of supporting characters, the author creates a twisty tale set in England filled with friendships, romance, and obsession. As she was gearing up for the "you shouldn't be reading this" lecture, I told her the characters get married in the end.You can use this phrase to describe an unexpected situation or event, such as when someone says or does something out of the blue.
