Mysteries of Thorn Manor honestly read like a fanfiction one-shot, but I honestly really enjoyed that.

If Sorcery of Thorns wasn't proof enough, this novella has all the evidence of just how much of an evil genius this demon is and how much he truly loves and cares about his bound charges. I loved reading about him only being a servant and friend without any problems he has to figure out, it's what he deserves. If you loved the aesthetics in Sorcery , you'll be delighted by the hidden bedrooms full of memories, the cursed attic, the magical gardens, the abandoned ballroom.I'm a huge fan of stories that bring you closer to beloved characters; Mysteries expands so much on the characters' emotions and arcs that you come away adoring them even more. I was super excited to see the Sorcery of Thorns trio again, and this novella didn’t disappoint in the slightest!

When she opened it, she discovered a handwritten dedication on the patterned endpapers: To my beloved—may you always believe in fairy tales.This is, ultimately, a lighthearted novella, but Rogerson also found room within it to deal with this heavy topic in a way that didn’t feel unnatural or shoehorned in and that didn’t subtract from the overall story. It's beyond adorable to finally see Nathaniel admit to being in love, to see Elisabeth so fiercely protective of everyone in the house, and to truly see how much Silas has accepted Elisabeth into their little family. not every story has a happy ending, but most do, if you’re brave enough to keep reading until the end.

The three of them really balance each other out; Elisabeth and Silas remain level-headed while Nathaniel bounces off the walls.

Elisabeth and Nathaniel are living a mostly quiet and mundane life in the manor, until the day they wake up to the manor having barricaded itself against the outside world. Our team is made up of book lovers who are dedicated to sourcing and providing the best books for kids. And Nathaniel… I laughed so hard and so often throughout this short little book, because his wit absolutely shines here. and you all know that i adore a magical house setting and exploring all the magical rooms, with some very alive grimoires!The entirety of this novella takes place at Thorn Manor, but that doesn't make the story feel small. In this sequel novella to Sorcery of Thorns, Elisabeth, Nathaniel, and Silas must unravel the magical trap keeping them inside Thorn Manor in time for their Midwinter Ball! Mysteries of Thorn Manor depicts so much domestic bliss that we really get a chance to see how silly and playful he is with Elisabeth on a daily basis, and it’s delightful.
