Which leaves us asking, why did Garrett put up that reward money and needlessly involve himself in the case back in 2006? Another plot hole to me is earlier in the book when Rachel/Molly pretends to be a friend of a dead Molly Foster on the internet and another stranger chimes in and says that he is a detective.

I enjoyed Barelli's Unforgivable, The Accident and The Housekeeper, so MISSING MOLLY was next book on my TBR list. How could a frail and almost blind elderly lady have taken the action that she was alleged to have done? If you're a little bored of the usual domestic thriller/suspense/mystery novels out there, I think you'll enjoy " Missing Molly". With every sentence I could feel the characters pain and anxiety as she navigated the world trying to keep her true identity a secret. One plot hole that people keep pointing out is Rachel inviting the bad guy, the murderer of her family, to dinner at her own house, fully knowing who he is and what he is capable of (which protective, sane mother would do this?

There was a point where I was just so lost, I had to re-read a few paragraphs because I wasn't sure if I missed something or if Molly was really acting up. In 2009, when Stanger was being investigated for the Bish murder, police also questioned him in connection with the 1993 murder of Holly Piirainen who went missing in Sturbridge.

Ya Molly’s absence isn’t really felt too badly as she’s one of the people in camp I interact with the least. Molly Foster disappeared almost 12 years ago seemingly without a trace after the murder of her family. As the 23rd anniversary of Molly Bish's disappearance approached, District Attorney Early provided an update on the investigation.I felt a little confused throughout most of the book because some plot points, like what happened with 'Molly' the last time she had a breakdown was referenced early on but not explained until the end of the book. I guess I should have figured, considering that the tag line is “an unputdownable thriller that will leave you breathless” or whatever.

Probably because the character is whiney and annoying) As such, I was unable to invest in what happened to her.

I had never read a book by Natalie Barelli before, but let me tell you… I have every other book she wrote on my to read list now. Her behavior is suspicious to those around her because she gets so spastic when she hears her work is going to investigate her disappearance without realizing its her. Problem: Rachel IS Molly Forester, the young girl who disappeared years ago after the massacre of her entire family. I wasn’t sure what to think most of the time or if this was going to be a happily ever after or an “oh, that’s terrible” type of ending.

Given how smart The Missing has proven to be so far, I’m betting that once the dust settles from the impact of all these startling revelations, the truth will come into focus in an impressively full-circle way. On July 9, 1982, Sumner was convicted of aggravated rape and kidnapping from an attack the prior October inside an apartment that Sumner was trying to let. Bottom line, the book started off very well, sputtered a bit, but then found its footing and finished well hence the waffling between the 3. I don’t want to give spoilers, but I quite liked his demeanor and personality and how seriously he took his job.All in all, I really liked the plot of " Missing Molly"; it was really interesting, unique, and unlike anything I ever read. Up until now, they’ve each been handling this tragedy on their own, and in very different ways—Emily crying, praying, and cooperating with the police, while Tony’s taken to towards public fits of rage and breaking into people’s apartments. The opening scene is somewhat surreal, set in the present but far removed from the dreary European landscape of The Missing we’ve come to know. Following the murder of Crystal Morrison, Stanger's girlfriend of 20 years, Morrison's sister alerted the Massachusetts authorities.
