From the opening chapter which sees reserved Laurie attending the funeral of her eccentric uncle Miles, I knew I was in for an entertaining read when she and the stranger sat next to her, Cam, fight sniggers at the interesting music choice chosen by Miles for his funeral. Circumstances lead her to find herself stranded in the village of Montenello where she makes friends with Assunta an older local lady that shares her love of food. In true Nicky Pellegrino style, To Italy, With Love is a compelling read full of likeable characters, romance and adventure and to top it all off, a backdrop that has you reaching for your passport. Celebrate the exceptional eye, the discerning palate, the distinct finesse that only they can pass on to the next generation of apprentices.From sampling the delights of the Loire Valley to the breathtaking beauty of Lake Garda, this is one journey that has more twists and turns than either of them could ever have imagined.
