About this deal

But Kate was the richest character of the bunch, and I think it's because we saw so much of her life through flashbacks. Throughout it all, Benedict shows a deft hand at plotting and a keen eye for characterization, not just where Kate is concerned but across the full swath of the community caught up in this rich, multi-layered drama. Isadora is observing the night sky for a school project – her class is learning everything about space and she decides to look at the stars for inspiration. Laura Benedict is the Edgar- and ITW Thriller Award- nominated author of eight novels of suspense, including The Stranger Inside). The Australian Olympic Committee acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this nation.

Maybe, but the sasquatches whom the volcano displaced contributed to the statistics, too, if only out of self-defense. Kate Russell's decision to reveal to Sheriff Bill Delaney what she knows about the disappearance of Isabella Moon, a missing child, even if it means exposing her own secret, threatens to unravel the dark secrets of Carystown, Kentucky, and forces Kate and Bill to risk everything, including their own lives, to seek justice for a little girl. When Kate walks into Sheriff Bill Delaney’s office to tell him that Isabella’s ghost has led her to the child’s hidden grave, he immediately views her as a suspect.

Idyllic Carystown, Kentucky seems to be the perfect place for Kate Russell to hide from a vindictive, abusive husband. I would love to sell ISABELLA MOON in my own print-on-demand versions, but there are PLENTY of hard and softcover versions available out in the world. When her mum and dad come along on a school trip to the ballet, Isadora worries that they might not be like normal mums and dads.Between Vellum, and Canva, and many other helpful sites, it’s shockingly easy to make changes to all of my owned content. But the two just can’t get along, and Mirabelle gets so cross that she says she wishes Wilbur would just disappear. From roasting marshmallows on a campfire to making friends with a mermaid – special things happen when Isadora’s around! The use of italics to tell relate stories that happened in the past was bizarre and made reading these sections difficult. No one wants justice for the missing child more than Sheriff Bill Delaney, who considers Isabella’s unsolved disappearance one of his greatest failures.

If you like books that keep you guessing, that keep you on the edge of your seat, and that present you with believable, sympathetic characters, then this book is for you. The villains of the piece, of which there were many, were so obvious it negated much of the suspense. Presented as a major figure, he battles feelings of lust for and suspicion of Kate, as well as pressures to unravel the town’s web of sex, drugs and violence. Between magical campfires, space lessons, moon cheese and a glowing sleepover, Isadora will need to use all her wits to help Nova find Pluto before her new friend has to fly back to the stars. The existence of non-expiring digital content, combined with easy access to book resellers, means that pretty much any book can now stay alive a long, long time.

I’m considering adding a horror short story to the edition with the flower cover to differentiate it at the retailers. It held a bit too much gore, violence and drug use to be a great read but it was something different for me. Written with mesmerizing prose and chilling attention to detail, Isabella Moon both astonishes and impresses in its exploration of the coexistence of good and evil and – as Kate observes – the “single sharp line” that separates them.Isadora is excited for her first ever trip to the fun fair, but when she arrives it’s not quite as magical as she expected. The most engaging scenes are Kate’s flashbacks that unfold alongside the present story as both become increasingly sordid. Like digging up an unmarked grave in the gloaming, ISABELLA MOON is a tense and creepy hunt for the truth about what lies beneath. I often suffer from "blank face" syndrome when I read: the characters are there in my imagination, but their faces are blank. Two years later she swapped over to Biathlon, combining her love for skiing fast with the skill of shooting at a target.
