Just like how Emmett in The Lego Movie goes from zero to hero, Pratt’s performance makes Star-Lord one of the most memorable characters in the Marvel Universe. It has great characters, dialogue, action, visuals, soundtrack, and most importantly, tons of humor. Finally, I loved at the very end of the credits where it states, “No raccoons or tree creatures were harmed during the making of the film.

Then, the villainous Ronan (Lee Pace) – a madman who wants to give the orb to an even bigger bad guy named Thanos so that Thanos will destroy Ronan’s mortal enemies, the Xandarians – sends Thanos’ daughter, Gamora (Zoe Saldana), to get the orb back. One thing that slightly confused me is in wanting to know where Peter Quill was able to get extra batteries to keep his Walkman tape machine to be played. It's no surprise really to find it's one of the MCU's most discretely standalone productions in years.

What really is a relief, however, is no longer having to compromise with a streaming variation just to enjoy the expanded aspect ratio. There’s strong pushback and good spacing here where the characters move freely, smoothly and face no challenges with rapid action causing a blur/jitter distortion.

It also helps that Rocket pretty much translates much in the same manner Han Solo did for Chewbacca. This is one of those genre defining flicks that took the standard of quality superhero films and raised the bar to the next level. That film shot in New York, Italy, South Africa, and South Korea to give the story a more global / epic feel.

Directed by James Gunn ('Super'), with a script co-written with Nicole Perlman, 'Guardians' is an absolute blast. Vocals are rich and pure, Groot’s one line (regardless of his tone) resonates, and Bradley Cooper’s Rocket Raccoon sizzles like that of New York cabbie.
