About this deal

I tried for a while at various apertures to get the lens to generate the best sample of this but it’s very well controlled. Credit is provided by Novuna Personal Finance, a trading style of Mitsubishi HC Capital UK PLC, authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. The outer barrel on the XF 35mm is made of metal and the lens mount is made of metal, while the XC lens is all plastic. The fine texture of the metal parts further enhance the shooting experience and ensure it can be operated easily and accurately with wet or gloved hands. The 35mm is simply one of the best focal lengths around because it sits between wide angle and the start of telephoto.

It’s great, results from this lens are very satisfying for me and I don’t have any complains for AF on my X-T10.

Its hard to say if it’s the lens or the cameras, but in dark conditions you can still get som occasional focus hunting. I want to make a useful video/post for people out there, so I will mention some specs and talk about the lens itself, but this video is mainly about my experiences with the lens, the change in the focal length

With memories of hauling around big SLRs and zoom lenses, it is a delight to mount this small prime lens onto one of Fujifilm’s X Series cameras. I did say “nearly flawless” in the last paragraph, and if there is one complaint, it’s some obvious pincushion distortion. After reading your comments, especially around how silent the lens is without losing anything in rendering, I’ll be swapping the f1. and f2 – and even if there was, the quicker and quieter autofocus could be enough for street and portrait shooters to make the switch.By default then it’s great for portraits and all around shooting, and the Bokeh at this focal length at the maximum aperture of f2 is really nice. Indeed in my night tests with both lenses, the newer model out-performed the older one in the mild-corner region.

Sure lens construction metal of plastic doesn’t add nor detract from the image quality but there’s something undeniably attractive about them. This is, in fact, a slightly longer than usual standard, which some photographers may find to their liking, especially if they find themselves routinely cropping slightly. X-T1 + XF 35mm F2 WR is now in hand, the sun is up and I’m hitting the streets for the first time in a long time. The lens uses eight seals on the barrel to protect it from rain, dust and splashes of water when shooting outdoors. and while I am happy with the image quality (especially sharpness) from that combo, Jonas has convinced me as well, to go with the new 35 f2 WR! It has the right amount of weight and heft, and it really balances out well with the small X-series cameras.

The XF 35mm F2 R WR has 9 lens elements in 6 groups (including two aspherical elements) and achieves the perfect balance of high image quality, compact size and autofocus speed as fast as 0. We were being taught about the human eye because design displays and image processing algorithms require an understanding of the human vision.Right now there’s two XF 35mm lenses available and I reckon most owners would be better-served by the newer f2 model. Apart from losing that one extra stop of light, the new 35mm f2 has everything going for it and that's coming from a guy that absolutely loves the original 35mm f1. If you press your eye right up to the viewfinder, you can barley see the lens just at the corner, but it's nowhere near the frame lines.
