About this deal

Somewhere out there, Miles has children who don’t know it, but they might be about to inherit the good and bad from him – possibly his fortune, or possibly something more sinister. Quite a bit of misdirection before you guess the true villian but the true hero of the book is a dying man who wants to help others. As a result, he sets out to find the children he may have fathered from the donations he made to a sperm bank twenty years prior.

This was my first Linwood Barclay -I was totally immersed in the storyline-very well narrated and believable.Bad Move, the first book, was followed by three more Zack Walker thrillers: Bad Guys, Lone Wolf, and Stone Rain. Miles wants to protect Chloe from their fate as they pursue a dangerous investigation to find out what is happening to his biological children, the reasons for their elimination, and who is to blame. Whether it’s Huntington’s, or cancer, or your heart, whatever, predicting life expectancy is a mug’s game.

J. Finn ( The Woman in the Window) and Paula Hawkins ( Girl on the Train), bullet speed and all consuming! star (barely) — I thought I would give Linwood Barclay 1 more try after really disliking his last book, but unfortunately “Find You First” drove home the point that Linwood Barclay’s books are not for me. Marla has had a life-long obsession with books, reading more than 100 books per year for the last several years. Together, Cookson and Swanson try their best to track down the others, only to discover that some have simply disappeared. Barclay's latest combines an engrossing, fast-moving, well-twisted modern-day plot with believable characters. After some dark reads, Linwood Barclay's latest crime thriller was just what I needed, it is entertaining, fast paced, and exciting storytelling that had me immersed from start to finish.

Not only does he want to inform them about the illness, but has decided to divide his inheritance amongst them all. It never lets up' STEPHEN KING 'Insanely paced, wildly entertaining' JOE HILL 'A full-throttle powerhouse of a thriller - Linwood Barclay is in a class of his own' T. Linwood Barclay has been one of my favourite authors for some time now although I have found his recent books a little disappointing. Many of his books have been optioned for film and TV, and Linwood wrote the screenplay for the film based on his bestselling novel Never Saw It Coming. When single millionaire Miles Cookson finds out that he has a fatal disease, he sets out to make things right. It isn’t creepy, nor does it give you the chills (like Dead Silence), but it keeps the pages turning. But he’s been diagnosed with Huntington’s Chorea and he now knows that a painful death is not only inevitable, but it’s also going to come a good deal sooner than later. Find You First is a wild ride of deception, greed, depravity, and for wealthy Miles Cookson, a time for quick reflection before his untimely death. The book ends with useful notes for parents and carers on how to encourage positive conversations around race from a young age, and a glossary explaining what words like ‘race’ and ‘racism’ actually mean.

The cinematic narrative makes it perfect for video adaptation, but don’t wait for the movie or the series. Other than that, it was a very convoluted plot with a lot of characters so you had to pay attention, but all in all a really good riproaring and exciting read.Yet in another timeline, the bomb never lands and Jo, Val, Vern, Alec and Ben continue living through the rest of the 20th century, and all the social, sexual and technological transformations that come with it.
