This experience has been fantastic primarily for the children, the school and also for me (professionally). I gave this to my 6 year old daughter for Christmas and we have read a couple of pages most nights, finishing today. Packed with stories about boys who aren’t afraid to cry and rhymes about girls who refuse to kiss frogs, this collection shakes up dusty, old-fashioned (and, to be honest, rather sexist) bedtime stories and totally reinvents them for the 21st century. Yet things are never what they seem in Fearless Fairy Tales, and Zareen’s encounter with the peashooter could lead to a fierce debate. Whilst my four-year-old enjoyed being read to, I think children aged 8+ (or whenever they're confident readers) will get the most from the book.

You guys were so fab and Dawn was such a lovely presence in the schools - I will absolutely be in touch next time I'm in your neck of the woods.We couldn't put it down, my 11 and 14 year old haven't let me read them bedtime stories in about 2 years 😪, an hour later i had to make them go to bed with promises of finishing it/ reading some more tonight. Your words, like your reviews, bring books to life and give them a voice before the front cover is even turned. Yourself and Bob are much cherished in our booky world and I personally really appreciate everything that you do.

Stories such as Sleeping Brainy who is so outraged by the hiring of a royal tutor that she conjures ‘ a cunning plan from thin air‘? Here we have Sleeping Brainy, Mouldysocks and the Three Bears, Jack and the Baked Beanstalk……you probably get the picture. You guys are such a force for good and I am a passionate supporter of Indie booksellers, so I'm so happy this worked out well (I'd love to know how many books were sold if you have it to hand - it felt like quite a lot! There's Sleeping Brainy, the princess whose only dream is to become Chancellor of the Exchequer, and the Gingerbread Kid, who escapes persecution in his home country but struggles to fit in in his new one.There was just the right amount of choice to suit everyone without being overwhelming and I received comments from parents and staff about the quality of books offered compared to previous sales which have always been based around current crazes and well known celebrity authors. This time she has left the illustrations to Rikin Parekh, who has done an excellent job of matching her style to the prose.
