I did a second dive back into this book to see how Kent built this destructive underlayer woven within the narrative.

It was very obvious to me (someone who has been born and bred in London) that it was put on, and I wanted to scream at the way she pronounced water.Having lost some pieces of her memories, she’s dealing with a nightmarish past that comes to her in flashbacks at night, and a heart condition. In conclusion, Deviant King is a dark and addictive tale that pushes boundaries and challenges conventions.

The book does come with a warning “This is a dark high school bully romance, mature new adult, and contains dubious situations that some listeners might find offensive. might put this series on hold for a while since i'm not in the mood to continue it rn, but i'm hoping, once i get to kimberly and xander's book, i'll be able to get into it more. Honestly I was beginning to give up on the bully genre because the reverse harem and cringe worthy female leads were just really annoying but I am so glad I gave this author a chance and I will definitely be looking out for her other books if her females are like two I have read so far in her Elite series! What I hated was the whole phone scene because there’s a fine line between bullying and assault and let’s be honest he assaulted her my guy had his hand down her top and then kissed her heart surgery scar that guy had some weird obsession with that scar it was really creepy.

Previous three books establish Ronan as his best friend, but he comments against this, suggesting he tells his secrets to Aiden. If you are riding the wave of Bully or Dark High School Romance, you will enjoy the hell out of this book. She’s on the near side of becoming a sandwich, ultimately waiting to be put together to fit someone’s tastes. But it should have a trigger warning for anyone who has dealt with assault (more than the slight "bully" warning in the description).I can easily say, without hesitation, that Aiden King was one of my favorite dark romance genre heroes. While he had a turbulent, tortured past, Aiden didn’t let the experiences define him and was able to move forward (even if his father was unable to do so).

Shane East is one of my favorite narrators- he does an amazing job with emotions, pacing, and he has a perfect voice for Aiden (I've actually been in a Shane East audiobook binge and he's perfect for all the characters he plays because he kind of just has the perfect voice and accent.Elsa is not a push over, she keeps to herself because all she wants is to do well in school so she can get into Cambridge university, but the bullies just won’t let her be. As long as we have a massive TBR pile on our bookshelves, or Kindle Unlimited, we can shelter in place for days, weeks, months. After one of Aiden's and Elsa's 'confrontations' (consisting of Aiden threatening to sexually assault her and then doing so) Elsa goes home and is just like, "Ughh. During week 1 of quarantine, I decided to start reading Deviant King by Rina Kent, after weeks of it sitting unread on my kindle after I shamelessly fell victim to a well-placed Facebook ad and downloaded it.
