After my second book by this author, I can say with certainty that this will be the last book I'll read by her. I’m ready to prove to our company that I can handle anything…except sharing a cabin and a bed with my meticulous, elusive boss. now before reading this book, idk why but with the enemies to lovers trope i kinda expected izzy to be like someone working for cade who was supposed to be undercover spying on him. Cade Armanelli might be an infamous hacker with billionaire status who operates better alone, but I earned my spot working alongside him. I already dnfed her one story "Fractured Freedom", because I couldn’t even finish the first chapter.For example, I don't think there was ever a mention of anyone's age (if there was I wasn't paying attention) There were so many opportunities for this to be a great book but, it just fell flat. So I guess if you want an enemies to lovers, one bed, mob/hacker book with a lot of poorly executed spice and zero coherency and plot…this book is for you!
Izzy was just trying to prove to everyone she fine after her addiction and a traumatic experience she went through but Cade saw right through it. The male lead is described as a “billionaire tech mogul, mobster, hacker, head of security for the US, Pentagon, and Stonewood Enterprises”. Everyting was written beautifully from her family relationships(the love and struggle with them), her past, the action, the love, the MMC and mfc.
the way cade antagonizes her is super amusing and really portrays the old saying 'if a guy likes a girl, he'll pick on her' phrase. He keeps an eye on everything Delilah does it’s safe to say he’s OBSESSED but he’s not happy when he sees that izzy just won’t let the Albanian incident go and she wants revenge for her sister so because of this he sends her to a different city so that she can stop trying to hack they're systems.
