About this deal

For many years, these communities wanted scissors on the Alox range, so this development by Victorinox has been much anticipated and is very welcomed. Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. That desire for preparedness and my love of tinkering drew me to the EDC community and through it, to Victorinox.

The company also makes high-quality household and professional knives, watches, travel gear and fragrances. The overall quality of the Victorinox knife is still fantastic with snap on all blades that would make some other knife makers weep in mass production ? Perfect for opening packages, snipping string and clipping our articles, the built in scissors make an excellent addition to the already stellar line up of tools already available, including a versatile steel blade and bottle opener.I'd resisted getting an Alox simply because I do find the tweezers and tooth pick useful which you don't get on the Alox models. The Farmer is especially suited to walks in the woods where occasional pruning or cutting dead wood for fires might be expected. The Pioneer has a can/tin opener at the opposite end of the tool that acts in a forward cutting motion. The ratings/reviews displayed here may not be representative of every listing on this page, or of every review for these listings. and in addition you will find brands such as Gerber, The North Face, Suunto, Klymit, Seeland, Trangia, Mil-Tec and many, many more.

stainless’ steel alloyed with chromium and molybdenum that resists corrosion well, yet also has a degree of carbon content so holds an edge quite well while still being easily sharpened. Because of that frailty I invested in an Alox 'Farmer', that is the agricultural version of an Alox Pioneer, substituting a saw for the file. The Pioneer, for instance, is larger than the Victorinox Cadet and the knife has an awl instead of a nail file.Although it's substantial, but not too big or heavy, I find it more comfortable with the attached clip purchased separately. Can't add much to the published spec or to what is already known about Victorinox fit and finish or that, of course, it is sharp out of the box. Its not a major concern because of the out standing warranty from Victorinox, but it is i hope not the start of yet another famous brand going down hill ? The different extra tool that each provides means that each is best suited to very different environments.
