About this deal

One thing to bear in mind when upgrading or replacing a home network cabling setup is that Cat7 and Cat7a versions tend to be considerably thicker, stiffer and heavier than their Cat5 predecessors, and this may affect on your ability to route the cables neatly in places where space is at a premium or very precise bends are required. In other words, UTP cable comes without any additional shielding placed between the twisted wire pairs and the outside sleeving of the cable. Though Cat 7 cables have been shown to be capable of delivering such bandwidths, they only support frequencies up to 600MHz, so lack that official support for such high bandwidths. Either standard would be seen as a suitable option for demanding use scenarios, such as high-performance data centre applications.

You'd just have to make ARJ45/GG45-to-RJ45 equipment cables to go from the wall (or patch panel) to the Ethernet ports on your switches or host NICs. Since these are rubbery plastic they can ONLY JUST, with much force applied, be stretched to fit over the slightly thicker Cat 7 cable. Personally, I recommend the GG45 connector type for Cat 7, but would advise you stick to Cat 6a connectors for now until GG45 is more widely supported on network switches and NICs or TERA connectors are significantly improved. The pass-through design of the crystal head allows for easy installation, whether you are experienced or not.

Where you see Ethernet cable labelled as either Cat7(a) STP or FTP, these acronyms stand for Shielded Twisted Pair or Foiled Twisted Pair respectively, and they essentially mean the same thing. That doesn't preclude anyone from using Cat7 cables, but it does mean many are less inclined to do so. Specially developed for maintaining the high speed speed and accuracy in our proprietary Cat 7+ ethernet cable or others with up to AWG 22 (0.Remember whilst Cat6a uses the RJ-45 interface, you will need to use Cat6a rated RJ-45 terminators/connectors on the cable and not some spare Cat5 rated connectors. I assume you have installed your cable, so would be interested in knowing what you actually installed.
