I came across a picture of a hobnob while browsing on Instagram and it hit me that I’ve never tried to recreate them. Once dipped the chocolate melts and the biscuit doesn’t become utterly soggy – it retains some bite.I rated 4 stars for that reason because taste and texture is a classic and can't go wrong with these and a cup of tea!

These are lovely oaty biscuits but a little too sweet for me which is why I prefer the dark chocolate hobnobs. While we have taken care in preparing this summary and believe it to be accurate, it is not a substitute for reading the product packaging and label prior to use. I couldn’t find them when I got back to the states so I would wait for my exchange family to send me care packages oF them!

You only need a thin layer of chocolate to give these Oaty Biscuits a gorgeous flavour, but you can add plenty more if you want to give yourself a nice thick layer. Tried this with buckwheat flour and tapioca starch – they spread a LOT, but were still delicious, and the good news is, now I know how to make gluten free florentines 🙂 I am committed to making these gluten free as pictured…I am willing to bake (and eat! However cookies can be soft and chewy where as biscuits are mostly crips and crunchy, with no softness. I like the distinction of “biscuit”, though, because I feel like the crisp kind of dunking entity is different than the warm, chewy entity. You could make them in a bigger batch, and then freeze them in portions to give as gifts, or enjoy at a later date.
