About this deal

Ryan, on the other hand, is helping his father with the family ranch, and his father fears he's holding Ryan back from a better future. Sometimes twist like that are exciting, but this one just felt forced, and none of it truly made sense to me. Ryan and Amy make Seabrook come alive but I do wish that the author had not used the cliched dialogues between them that suddenly brings home the fact that is fiction and not real.

The midsection of the book is devoted to fantasy/magic realism of sorts with a new theory thrown in. oil on canvas, signed with monogram lower right and signed and titled on the reverse of the stretcher, 90. I felt that the final idea was somewhat childish, that the booked was soooooo long and for no reason, it dragged on FOREVER. Amy discovers the condemned remains of the town's famous lighthouse, once used to help traveler's safely find their way home. For those who need a reminder that within us is courage, strength, hope, healing, and love and that within us, we are far more powerful than the hopeless, lost, broken and incapability we often we feel.I invite you to explore the rest of my site, and if you’d like to receive the latest updates about when my next book will be released, please consider signing up to my mailing list or following me on Facebook. Her father Kevin, a detective in Portland, Oregon, decides to take as assignment to conclude a missing person's case in the seaside town of Seabrook, 200 miles south, and wants to take his daughter with him for a much-needed break. Parker's debut novel is a work of character-driven magical realism dealing with themes of filial love, grief, and existence in the liminal space between life and death.

I’m a sucker for lighthouses, and have even visited several, so when Simone from BooksForward PR offered me the chance to read Christopher Parker’s debut novel, The Lighthouse, I was happy to accept. Probably the biggest problem is eye and neck strain as I currently have 8 windows open on a Macbook Air. The town’s lighthouse–dormant for over thirty years and famously haunted–has inexplicably started shining, and its mysterious glow is sparking feverish gossip throughout the spooked community.Ultimately the book explores grief, and how different people cope with it, along with dealing with the aftermath of bad decisions. Park made these characters so relatable, it was hard not to put myself in their shoes, hard to not agree with a lot of their emotional responses. Amy Tucker is only visiting for the night and has no plans to get caught up in the hysteria, but that changes when she meets Ryan, the loyal, hard-working son of a ranch owner who lives on the outskirts of town. I really can't understand why there would be a male narrator for a book mostly told by a teenage girl.

We get to experience the simple purity of kindness that Ryan embodies through his character, which is a very refreshing breath of air, since this kindheartedness is very difficult to come across in our day to day lives. Then the story became much bigger and grander in scope (and consequently it took me a lot longer than I ever thought it would to complete the manuscript! We walk with Amy through this dark path, and get to see how Ryan shines a beacon of light in her life that allows all of these shadows to start losing their influence on her.

He soon fins that all his worries have gone away when he is around her and he cant seem to let her out of his sight. Christopher Parker’s debut work is all heart with a subject that is relatable to many that of loss and unconditional love. It is easy to come under his spell and not only root for Amy and Ryan, but enjoy the stories secrets as they are unveiled.
