About this deal

There is one key feature that the Max Lumi has and the Note series doesn't: the ability to act as an E Ink monitor for your PC. The native software is very good but if it doesn’t do something that you need, there’s a good chance you can download an app to provide the functionality.

The NA2+ supports layers and has a selection of 24 pre-installed templates (that essentially sit on the bottom layer). However, if you’ve moving from annotating on, say, an iPad using the Apple Pencil, know that you won't have to recharge the Wacom stylus supplied with the Note Air 2. Sure, you could use it without doing so, but if you use productivity apps such as Evernote, OneNote, Dropbox or Notion, then you’ll want to take advantage of the Note Air 2’s abilities.

The distributor, Onyx, says that "the device is designed primarily for reading ebooks, but it also has some additional features which are defined by the installed software.

Smart, stylish, premium and powerful for an e-ink tablet, the Boox Note Air 2 Plus is as good as it gets when it comes to 10in E Ink slates that need to run third-party apps, even if it isn’t as streamlined or refined as some competition. The Tab series is a versatile multi-purpose device that can replace many of the existing tasks you may have previously carried out on a laptop.

The Onyx Boox Note Air 2 Plus is a convincing package for anyone who wants a tablet mainly for reading and taking notes. As part of this mission, whenever we review a product we send the company a series of questions to help us gauge and make transparent the impact the device has on the environment. The first generation Note Air suffered from a very weak magnet to secure the pen in place on its right side.

A built-in Wi-Fi module allows you to use different services and Bluetooth makes it possible to connect a variety of external accessories. However, the monochrome display does limit the device slightly, making pictures in books and articles more difficult to distinguish. com is a leading authority on technology, delivering lab-based, independent reviews of the latest products and services. The Note Air 2 Plus model is based on the Android 11 operating system and allows you to install and use various third-party apps, which significantly expand the possibilities of using the device. There's only one button on this device, and only one port: a Power button and a USB-C port, both on the left side along with the underwhelming single speaker.Basil has been writing about tech for over 12 years, with bylines in TechRadar, Metro, Wired, and Digital Camera World – to name but a few titles. The best ones are NeoReader and BooxDrop, the latter of which allows the drag-and-drop of files via a web browser. It's a simpler tablet that can't compete when it comes to app support but is still rich with features, and ultimately, feels a bit more refined from a software point of view than Onyx's E Ink alternatives. And while you can download audiobooks and podcasts to the Note Air 2 Plus, it makes little sense to use it for audio files instead of your phone. There’s a handy home-baked BooxDrop app built in that makes it a doddle to drag-and-drop files onto the Note Air 2 from a computer, while scribbled notes can be turned into text and/or sent to other devices and into other productivity apps as PNG or PDF files.

The Note Air has a color-changing frontlight that goes from very yellow to very blue, with plenty of steps in between. Going into a bit more detail, the Note Air 2 and Note Air 2 Plus (we're testing the latter), are Android E Ink tablets. The ability to alter brightness was great, and since I was able to use the Kindle app, I could easily highlight passages I enjoyed and make notes using the split-screen feature and the Notes app. GHz octa-core CPU, 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM, responsive and smooth; equipped with Bluetooth device, easy to match peripheral devices; built-in microphone and amplifier, not only for reading, but also for listening Books and voice input improve work efficiency and create your infinite possibilities.Be prepared to spend some time experimenting with different apps and configuration settings whilst you get to grips with it and work out how it will fit into your existing workflows. Flipping through a 172-page PDF with the backlight on half brightness didn't reduce the battery by even 1%. The dual speakers and microphone are also located on the top and bottom edges respectively (which transpose to the left and right edges when the tablet is rotated to landscape mode).
