What are essentially 2 older models within the Oral-B range today, they still do a decent job of cleaning the teeth. Put these two brushes side by side and the differences between them are much harder to tell, they look almost identical, however, there are some subtle differences. All Oral-B brushes fall short here, but the iO5 has some of the best battery performance from an iO brush. I achieved an average of 17 days of use from a full charge of the lithium-ion battery. The Series 9 comes with a power2go charging case that allows the iO to be charged inside whereas the Series 8 comes with a standard travel case.Supplied in the box is a charging stand. White in color, it has a 1.2 meter (4 foot) cable hardwired into it. The plug on the end of the cable is a 2 pin power adapter. It supports 110-1300V. In fact, the biggest difference between the Series 6 and Series 7 is that the latter has a more advanced magnetic charging stand. It’s useful, but I suspect that most of us could live without it. The great number of choices you have within the Oral-B range can make it really quite difficult to decide which toothbrush is right for you. Activated as soon as you power the brush on at 30 second intervals, the brush motor momentarily pauses. The sound and brushing sensation change. This is your notification to move to the next section of your mouth. Come 2 minutes, the alert is 3 momentary pauses. Hear this and you’ve brushed for the recommended minimum time. The iO6 is the best value option. It strikes the balance between additional features and price. It has some smart features, but not the full suite. While Oral-B has partnered with schemes such as TerraCycle, it does not yet have its own recycling scheme for used brush heads or faulty products. Dentists recommend replacing your brush head every 3 months or sooner if it becomes worn for an optimal clean. Just wanted to thank you for the in depth review. I do find Oral brand very confusing, It feels like they are flooding the market to ensure customers are as confused as they can be so they either buy the most expensive or the cheapest.At the same time that the pressure sensor is illuminated, the motor will slow to reduce pushing too many movements to the brush head, reducing the chances of doing unnecessary damage. It is the old charger that you left the lid on the top and the extra brushes set down in. Has a mounting plate that screws to wall and the charger slides down on it. Thank you for all the hard work you have put in to review and provide information about the different Oral B electric toothbrushes. It has certainly helped me understand the different models better.The reality is, you could use any mode on the brush to clean your tongue just ending the clean sooner. Although the speed and number of oscillations will be different.
