Leveling the printer is pretty straightforward. The first step is to loosen the two thumbscrews on the sides of the resin tank. Then, using the control panel on the front of the printer, make sure the build platform is raised to a sufficient height so that the resin tank can be removed. The metal spatula is for helping to remove your prints from the build plate, and you will want to be somewhat careful while doing so, as it can potentially gouge or scuff the metal surface. However, in my experience, this has never really been anything other than a cosmetic issue. The soft spatula is used more as a tool for cleanup, such as assisting with removal of any residual resin out of the resin tank when it is emptied. Caution: The .LCD file will be automatically updated after restarting the machine in the shutdown state. Please do not update repeatedly to avoid being prompted "Same Firmware already exists!" Screen protection has long been (and likely will continue to be) a controversial subject in online discussion forums and social media groups for resin 3D printer owners. While some believe it to be crucial, others are not as bothered.
Whether you should buy the Mars 3 or the Mars 3 Pro entirely depends on you and what you need to have in your 3D printer. There was, however, a change in the build volume. The Mars 3 Pro has a build volume of 143 x 90 x 175 mm, which shows an increase of 10 mm in the Z-axis over the earlier Mars 3 and provides enough space to print models and even sizable batches. Although Mars 3 was very well-liked when it was first released, we’re not sure if it has been able to stand the test of time. Competitors have since then released better, and more advanced alternatives compared to the Mars 3. Perhaps that is one reason why Elegoo felt it important to release an improved version – the Mars 3 Pro. It is hard to determine how effective this technique is precisely, but there was a noticeable difference, which is certainly better than nothing. PriceThe Mars 3’s come fully assembled. All you have to do is take some protective film off and insert the plate into the printer. This “fully built” approach is very common with resin printers, but if you are used to FDM printers that might not be something you expect (as they often come in kits that need assembly). During the entire time I was testing it, I had no failed prints. If you are in the market for a desktop-sized 3D resin printer, you really can’t go wrong with this printer. If you already have the Elegoo Mars 3, the new features may not be compelling enough to make you want to upgrade.
What worked well for me was to start off by washing the item in the tank full of isopropyl alcohol after printing, then removing the supports while they were still soft. After that, I ran some water over it briefly before giving it a final rinse in the tank. After letting the item completely dry, I cured it and this helped prevent most white residue from forming on the print.
I have had some issues with the nuts on the build plate. If I screw them too tight, the build plate is not level. I can feel the right side of the build plate puts more tension on the paper when levelling. If I do not screw them tight enough, the build plate gets loose when I take prints of it. I think this is the root cause for all of the issues I had with dialling in the printer. It might just be my machine, but it is an issue that I did not have on the Mars 2. On the Mars 2 Pro, we had the super janky rubber seal. It is gone on the Mars 3, which is a bit of a shame. I would rather they had just made it a proper part of the printer. The screws and nuts of the machine seem the same as my Mars 2 Pro, which means it is sturdy enough. Large Build Volume】The 153.36x77.76x175 mm³/6.04x3.06x6.89 inch build volume provides you with enough space for daily creations without sacrificing printing accuracy. So, I am just a person printing miniatures. I do my research and I know a lot. But I have no understanding of the technical aspects of light, bleed-through and all the “feature bull” the 3D printing manufacturers want to sell you. With its Mars 3, a compact form factor MSLA/Resin 3D printer from Elegoo that was inexpensive, simple to operate, and produced prints of such exceptional quality that they appeared almost magical, the company had a significant impact on the recreational 3D printing scene.
Additionally, if you still somehow manage to damage it, the anti-scratch screen can be replaced more readily and inexpensively than the LCD below it. Elegoo claims that the anti-scratch glass even improves the light transmission. Lights Elegoo advertises the Mars 3 Pro as using a “PFA Release Film”, which has been designed to reduce the amount of adhesion between the part during printing and the film. Interestingly enough, I noticed that the Mars 3 Pro produced much less noise during lift moves than the original Mars 3, possibly due to this reduced adhesion. The stability of the printer (if the printer wobles, it matters little what the size of the pixels are as everything will be imprecise). Though lower micron counts typically seem preferable, the truth is that they will not really affect the print quality for the majority of the designs you print, if not all of them. One could argue that 35 microns should be enough to print highly accurate ultra-fine model details. When using a resin 3D printer, it is important to keep the platform flat relative to the LCD screen, something that is typically achieved by manually adjusting the platform. While most resin 3D printers use a four-bolt system to level the build platform, Elegoo uses a two-bolt system that is simply the best solution I have seen on desktop resin 3D printers.
