About this deal

Do note that the Memory Try It! function will also adjust voltages if necessary. For example, it will adjust the system memory voltage as well as the CPU System Agent voltage. Make sure to verify the settings and ensure you are comfortable with the raised voltages. Until then, If you have any questions or comments, feel free to drop them in the comment section below. All models support up to DDR5-5600, or DDR4-3200 memory, up to 16 lanes of PCI Express 5.0, and up to 4 lanes of PCI Express 4.0.

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 iGPUis supposed to offer a similar performance as the UHD630 in the Core i7-9900K. As a low-end solution it will only run current games smoothly at reduced details - if at all. Intel processor numbers are not a measure of performance. Processor numbers differentiate features within each processor family, not across different processor families. See http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/processor-numbers.html for details. There isn't much to chew over here. Compared to the Core i9-10900K, the i9-10850K comes with an across-the-board 100 MHz reduction in the base and boost frequencies. The ten-core 20-thread chip runs at a 3.6 GHz base frequency, peaks at 5.2 GHz, and retains all of Intel's normal boost mechanisms (like Turbo Boost 2.0, 3.0, and Thermal Velocity Boost). All models support up to DDR5-5200, LPDDR5-6400, DDR4-3200, or LPDDR4X-4266 memory, up to 16 lanes of PCI Express 5.0, and up to 4 lanes of PCI Express 4.0. I was the most impressed by the final test result: Prime 95 Small FFT with AVX at 5 GHz. Running a sustained 355W load with high yet stable temperatures and without any errors is just amazing. The upgraded VRM of the Z590 Carbon EK X compared to the Z490 Carbon EK X certainly did not disappoint. The factory set vf curve of this Core i9-10850K is defined from 8x ratio up to 52x ratio as 52x is the highest default turbo ratio available on this CPU. For any ratios higher than 52x the CPU will set the same voltage as for 52x.

AMD and Intel have different definitions for TDP, but are broadly speaking applied the same. The difference comes to turbo modes, turbo limits, turbo budgets, and how the processors manage that power balance. These topics are 10000-12000 word articles in their own right, and we’ve got a few articles worth reading on the topic. When we do the same comparison for the Core i9-10850K however, the results are a bit more alarming. In simple terms, processor manufacturers only ever guarantee two values which are tied together - when all cores are running at base frequency, the processor should be running at or below the TDP rating. All turbo modes and power modes above that are not covered by warranty. Intel kind of screwed this up with the Tiger Lake launch in September 2020, by refusing to define a TDP rating for its new processors, instead going for a range. Obfuscation like this is a frustrating endeavor for press and end-users alike. As expected, the 10850K pulls less power than the 10900K under full load, but we're looking at a roughly ~3% decrease in power consumption during the threaded AVX-heavy y-cruncher and HandBrake benchmarks. Stress tests often don't correlate to real-world heat output, though, and we recorded a peak of 91C during an extended multi-threaded y-cruncher workload (AVX heavy). All models support up to DDR5-5600 or DDR4-3200 memory, and 16 lanes of PCI Express 5.0 + 4 lanes of PCIe 4.0. All models support up to DDR5-4800 or DDR4-3200 memory, and 16 lanes of PCI Express 5.0 + 4 lanes of PCIe 4.0.
