About this deal

You cannot include a second DAEMON unit in your army unless your army also includes at least one DAEMON unit that owes its allegiance to each of the other three Chaos Gods. You cannot include a third DAEMON unit in your army that owes its allegiance to the same Chaos God until your army also includes at least two DAEMON units that owe their allegiance to each of the three other Chaos Gods, and so on. BE’LAKOR and HERETIC ASTARTES units are excluded when considering this restriction. The Chaos Space Marines beseech the gods for aid through Dark Pacts, bartering their very souls for the edge they need over their loyalist nemeses. If manifested, roll a D6 for every unit (excluding NURGLE units) within 7″ of the psyker. On a 4+ the unit being rolled for suffers D3 mortal wounds. If manifested, select a single friendly SLAANESH DAEMON unit within 18″ of the psyker that is within 1″ of an enemy unit. That unit can fight as if it were the Fight phase. In Part 3: The Datasheets, we talk about the units available to the Chaos Space Marine army and the options available to them.

9th Edition Chaos Daemons Codex - Mighty Lancer Games

Use this at the start of any phase. Select a unit of Daemons; until the end of the phase, you cannot re-roll savings throws for that unit, but its invulnerable save is improved by to a max of 3+ Prescience : you know it. You love it. +1 to hit is pretty good. Though it is less important as Death to the False Emperor was modifiable and Let the Galaxy Burn is unmodified. Useful, but not required. 6/10Use this before a Chaos Character from your attempts to summon Daemons to the battlefield using a Daemonic Ritual. That character suffers D3 mortal wounds, but you can roll up to 4 dice rather than 3 for the summoning roll. In addition, re-roll hits of 1 for the summoned unit while it is within 6″ of the character that performed the Daemonic Ritual.

That doesn’t mean you have to run Undivided. Far from it! If you love running your mono-faction Nurgle Daemon, Tzeentch Daemon, Slaanesh Daemon, or Khorne Daemon army, you are more than welcome to do so. You’ll receive the benefit of a more synergistic army, with the buffs you’ve brought benefitting a higher proportion of your army. For example, when a unit like Plague Drones gives wound re-rolls to every Nurgle Daemon unit in your army, you’re incentivized to bring lots of other Nurgle Daemons when you’re bringing Plague Drones. You’re just not punished if you also want to bring a Lord Of Change for some additional ranged damage, or some Seekers to cap objectives. The sons of Mortarion sap the toughness of nearby enemies by spreading Nurgle’s Gift, marching in an unstoppable wave and leaving infected objectives firmly under their control. Fiends return relatively unchanged, gaining Devastating Wounds and +1 Toughness in exchange for -2” Movement. Soporific Musk also gained a slight tweak, improving to a 6” aura.Rob: The Psychic Disciplines from 8th edition return, now updated for 9th and in the case of the Dark Hereticus Discipline, wildly different from what we saw in Codex: Thousand Sons. Now the Malefic Discipline is the clear winner of the two, with lots of great synergy you’ll want to build around. The Dark Hereticus Discipline If your army is an Army of Renown, you have access to these Stratagems, you can spend CPs to use them.

We already expected to see Helbrutes, Heldrakes, Forgefiends, Maulerfiends, and Defilers get updated datasheets to match those in Codex: Thousand Sons. But what we didn’t expect was updated datasheets for the Land Raider, which now has T9, and lascannons that do D6+2 damage, and other vehicles in the Chaos armory. When combined with new points values, these vehicles have an all-new look to them, and it’s actually worth considering a Vindicator in Chaos Marine armies with a Heavy D3+3 shot profile. It’s a cool update that has us wondering when and if it’ll come to the other legions and the loyalist chapters. Blessing. If manifested, select one friendly DISCIPLES OF BE’LAKOR unit within 18? of this PSYKER. Remove that unit from the battlefield and set them up anywhere on the battlefield that is more than 9? from any enemy models. If that unit Remained Stationary this turn, it is instead treated as having made a Normal Move this turn. Standard 9th Edition stuff to start out here, with a definition of what a Chaos Space Marine detachment is (everything has the TRAITORIS ASTARTES keyword except AGENTS OF CHAOS and UNALIGNED units) and a few bonuses/limitations around building one. If your army is led by a Daemon Tzeentch Warlord, you may give one Hellforged Artefacts to a Daemon Tzeentch Character in your army. Named characters cannot be given relics. Some Hellforged Artefacts replace a character’s existing equipment, you must still pay the cost of the weapon that is being replaced. If manifested, select an enemy unit that is within 18″ of the psyker and visible to it. That unit suffers D3 mortal wounds. If a CHARACTER is slain by this power, you can add a Chaos Spawn to your army within 6″ of the character and more than 1″ from any enemy models before they are removed as a casualtyOne of my favorite changes is the return of Instruments to their 8th Edition and earlier form, as they now provide +1 to Charge rolls for units that can take them again. With Icons improving Leadership by 1, both upgrades provide real benefits for the units carrying them. The World Eaters. Kharn and Berzerkers aren’t in the book. We’ve already heard they’ll be getting their own codex, and this month’s White Dwarf – which we’ll be reviewing next week – covers the interim units to use for the sons of Angron.
