It will be connected to the face plate screws so that they are earthed and will not carry a current. Bridge obviously i dont want to do anything stupid and obviously it needs to be legit as the house is not even 6 months old yet Assuming it will be connected to a lighting circuit, not a ring main, then a lighting circuit is designed to handle 6 amps, not 32 amps your ring main is designed to handle.
