About this deal

All we saw was a lot of already existing, unexplainable feelings for each other (they were legitimately already in love with one another when the book started). So there wasn't anywhere to go. Then she make him wait until she feels ready and know for sure that he want to be with her, because she is tired of waiting him to be ready to date her for years. They insinuate that not having done all these different things like getting drunk, having your first kiss etc is bad.

Livvy is the sweetest, most docile character Mason has ever written. She’s strong and resilient, but most importantly she’s becoming herself, which is all anyone ever hopes to accomplish. She and her best friend have had a strange relationship for 4 years. Basically boyfriend/girlfriend without a real relationship. She’s on a shelf, and well, he is not. This may annoy some readers but honestly, it feels necessary to the storyline. Just because someone is a virgin and doesn't have any sexual experience doesn't mean they're fragile glass. And similarly, with the h and her arc, the story started off at a point where she wanted to break out of that 'purity' mindset- but we didn't get to see ANY of the initial thought processes behind it, but were rather thrust into 'the big epiphany of her character'- which legitimately took away from the whole concept behind this book? I love friends to lovers. I appreciate and adore that someone attempted to write a book that targetted and adressed how toxic purity culture could be. What I don't love is the need to go to a complete different extreme to prove a point. The whole idea of this young woman realising how disgusting and toxic purity culture is and finding herself is an incredible idea for a book and its friends to lovers - you would think I would eat this up - When she asks him to be the one that takes her virginity, he is about to say no...so she basically starts begging him and then finally asks him to think about it for longer. Not only that, but after he agrees to kissing her and they make out...she goes home all excited and he immediately finds OW to hook up with. Just so pathetic of her honestly. What happens when a shy virgin raised in purity culture asks her gorgeous, player best friend to take her V-card? It turns out that Cole, aka the manwhore, is traumatized with some family stuff and is afraid of commitment. So he rejects her offer because he don't want to lose their friendship. I don't think either one of the two was good enough/ thorough enough to make the book worthwhile. The more that I read, the more underwhelming it became.

Purity Series by Skyler Mason - Goodreads

Purity by Skylar Mason read online is available. It is a romantic novel that explores sexual liberation and the consequences of being raised in purity culture. But when I tell Cole my request, his reaction is not what I expect. He’s furious and over-the-top protective. He won’t touch me, but apparently no one else can either. It doesn’t make any sense. I understand that her character was supposed to find herself, and grow- but I just didn't care enough about her? I couldn't relate to her, and just disliked the majority of her interactions with everyone. You would think, the whole set-up of them being really good friends and him always being protective but no he is so annoying. This purity book is amazing! It has a great good between scary and romantic parts. The author did a fantastic job of writing an exciting story filled with suspense, drama, and exploring relationships between people of different ages and long-time friends. Overall, “Purity” is a great read for anyone looking for a steamy romance with a meaningful message. How to read online Purity by Skyler Mason? Also, the way everyone gets involved and acts like she's so innocent and they have to treat her like she's glass - ewwww At no point did I think he was redeemable or likeable and I don't think she should've ended up with him at all. This should've ended with her single and going to her last year of college.

Also, Mari was the best!!! I wish I had a friend like her when I was breaking free of purity culture. I am perplexed by this book. Although, with its length, considers to be more a novella, this book is a monstrosity.

I'm not Christian nor religious and I think the whole purity thing is horrid. The way her dad cried and said she was not a 'little girl' anymore - I wanted to vomit I can deal with it not being super spicy as long as the story is good. Unfortunately... these two protagonists like the sound of their own voices more than I did.

I’ve seen you with women you want. You’re touchy. You can’t keep your hands off them, and you never touch me. At least, not normally.” People who enjoy reading about family dramas will love this book. Additionally, if you like mysterious stories that are a bit dark and set in a famous city, then this thriller will definitely satisfy you. Purity by Skyler Mason Review If you can look past how double standards major man-ho H is and how it is brought up SO SO many times .. then it is okay book. h says to H when they are young, that she would date ONLY christian. And ofc H is ruled out. So they both pine for each other. Over the last year h has second thoughts... and decides she can date a NON christian.Honestly, this book just makes me feel seen. Seriously, reading this story was therapeutic because it reflects many of my own experiences being raised in an evangelical home and the journey I found myself on during college to unlearn those toxic beliefs and form my own. I honestly am so happy Skyler wrote this story because so many of us women have been negatively affected by purity culture and it’s lovely seeing Livvy embark on her own path to healing and discovery. 💕 What I do know is that, as someone who isn’t particularly religious, this book must be the devil incarnate bc it almost sent me to church. I’m not sure even holy water could cleanse the images eternally burned into my dungeon of a mind.
