About this deal

The two of them are surrounded by an able supporting cast that can hold up the weight of some excellent writing, and by series’ end you’ll feel as if you’ve been on a complete journey. His temporal shift allows him to arrange all the pieces: seeing his father running away, altering a crime boss' trajectory, meeting the mother of his girlfriend. Matthew Graham stated: "We decided that Sam's journey should have a finite life span and a clear-cut ending and we feel that we have now reached that point after two series".

It's vastly enjoyable and manages to stay just about believable thanks to some strong writing and, of course, the two marvellous central performances". Majors, an actor best known for his ABC TV series of the '60s, '70s, and '80s (particularly "The Six Million Dollar Man"), gets shown around the 125th Precinct set by Jason O'Mara. The music soundtrack, even with the song alterations definitely helps make the show, and generally the audio experience for Life on Mars is quite rosy. And just when he thinks he's figured out why he's in 1973, we get a different and rather unsatisfying explanation that those enjoying the series up to this point may wish to discard. It's a more believable character detail than actually having her accept he comes from 30 years in the future.

Hunt is supported by his fiercely loyal subordinates, Chris Skelton and Ray Carling, with the latter portrayed as a character similar to Hunt.

Things like, when Sam first arrives in 1973, he starts to look around for his "mobile" when questioned as to "mobile what", he looks totally baffled as to why the copper doesn't understand that he means his mobile phone. The performances by the cast are great, the direction is top notch and the soundtrack is simply amazing. There are enough extra features to satisfy the fans of the show and give some great insight on production, writing and filming the show.

There is more than enough new and unused material for my books without me going back and plundering previous episodes. Tyler is a decorated detective on the trail of a killer when a sudden collision with a moving motor vehicle knocks him backwards in time to 1973. The seventies come to life in golden nostalgic tones, the production values are always on screen, and in terms of direction, production design, and costumes, this is a show to savour. The quick cancellation, rendered inevitable by lackluster ratings, has both positive and negative effects.

The show has also been transmitted in Croatia ( Croatian Radiotelevision), Sweden (a cut version [ specify] on SVT 2), Netherlands ( Nederland 3), in Germany ( Kabel 1), Greece ( Skai TV), Spain ( Antena.Rather than being accessible from the episodes screen, you have to go to Audio Setup to activate them. There have been 2 official tie-in books to accompany the series featuring episode summaries, cast and character profiles, music listings to each show, script extracts, plus behind-the-scenes content and never before seen photos. Finally, there is Chris Skelton (Jonathan Murphy), a young, naïve detective who carries out his work without the ego and bravado of his male colleagues. I’d have liked to see some more bonus features on Series 2, like maybe another gag reel, but overall there’s a decent set of special features here.

In the season's lead episode, Sam confronts the younger version of a bad guy that he was after in 2006, and as it turns out, that same bad guy is at his bedside in the hospital in the 21st Century slowly torturing him to death, the effects of said torture manifesting on Sam in his new world. Said Tom Graham in a pre-publication interview: "…I made a very conscious decision to move on from the show, not to tinker or play around with pre-existing story lines. Kelley produced the pilot for an American version of the series for the ABC network, though he handed duties over to others for the series production. Tyler doesn't immediately know where, or more accurately when, he is, but he's recognized as the new transfer to the NYPD's 125th Precinct and settles into the job he's used to.That was back when cops pounded the beat, and pounded the suspects to get to the bottom of crimes, visually and emotionally more engaging than the dry forensic analysis of 21st Century police shows. The only way they could be the same is if the Frank Morgan in 1973 is the real one, and Sam is hallucinating the future doctor.
