About this deal

Well now all this information is in one place – in an easy-to-read format. Skip straight to whatever issue you’re struggling with right now. Space to make notes of what works and what doesn’t (handy for when Granny’s babysitting or they go to Dad’s for the weekend) and real-life examples of what worked, what didn’t, and why.

So, I didn't give 5 stars overall because not all the information in here is representative of the broad spectrum that is ADHD. The author has her experience primarily with juvenile offenders and this book is skewed towards that and some parents might be terrified that their darling child will become one as well. Trust me not all kids/people with ADHD lie, steal, have violent outbursts... A must read/listen for anyone involved with individuals who have ADHD - parents, care givers, family, teachers!!! So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE know that this is a spectrum and not all people that have it exhibit these negative and frightening things. Also, in the USA the pediatrician is able to treat ADHD and you don't have to go through a therapist. Indeed, just because someone has ADHD doesn't mean they need therapy. Sarah has written this book after working with 100's of ADHD parents who said "If ONLY I'd known all this stuff while they were growing up".

A user-friendly, practical guide for parents trying to help difficult, explosive children. This book will be of enormous benefit to such children and their families.” —Michael Jellinek I have recommended Sarah a number of times to clients needing ADHD Therapy – for her ‘no nonsense’, ‘say it as it is’ approach.” Soli Lazarus B.Ed (Hons) Psychology, Yellow Sun

Super easy to read and completely engaging. Helping me to understand (myself!!) my son and his actions and approaches to things. Sarah Templeton, a therapist with ADHD herself, has written this book after working with 100’s of ADHD parents from all over the UK, who have told her ‘’if only I’d known all this stuff while they were growing up’’ Well now all this information is in one place – in an easy-to-read format. All offenders to be tested for ADHD when entering a police station for the first time and the prison service for the first time Sarah Templeton is a vocal advocate for change and believes The ADHD Act is long overdue. She very much hopes this Act will ensure ~ If you are in any doubt that your child has ADHD then this book is absolutely essential. You will have your answer after chapter 7 believe me. We have just been given a prescription for my daughter, so the chapter on medication was so helpful.

Recognition & Reviews

I also found that I learnt a lot about my own ADHD and sometimes felt compelled to hunt down my primary school teachers and demand an apology (I jest, they didn’t know I guess). Short enough for a busy parent to actually read and use; utterly reliable and authoritative but never pedantic; wise, kind, and teeming with the chirping voices of children who have ADHD; this cornucopia of a book will feed you over and over again. Wonderfully written, infused with positive energy and solid information. All parents of children who have ADHD should buy it.” (Edward Hallowell, MD, best-selling author ofDelivered from Distraction) All parents should read this book, especially those with children who are out of control. Ross Greene presents a loving, rational, and research-based approach to dealing with problems that most parents have either felt were their own fault or were unsolvable. I could not recommend this book more highly.” —Edward Hallowell, M.D., author ofDriven to Distraction Comments
