Take programmer and back plate off, ignore the links between L, 5 and 8 as you won't need them on new programmer. Once that was out of the way, the rest went smoothly, and the unit has been working well since then, which is a month now. I suspect that the Red wire from terminal 8 on ST699 to terminal 4 on ST9400c may be the problem, but not absolutely sure which terminal it should go to on 9400c.
