About this deal

I wanted to keep reading, finding excuses to do it and staying up too late – “just a few more pages” before closing my reader. There have been some books about figure skaters, Kathleen Gilles Seidel wrote about snowboarders, and of course there are boxing books, and some about soccer.

A little…super tiny…” He holds his hands out, palms facing each other, just a couple inches between them. I scratch my fingers through his hair and trace the sharp angle of his cheekbone, the tip of my finger running through the divot where his dimples rest. But when Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet's misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes much more than just a hot body with the face to match. I offered to drive, but the glare he directed at my stomach told me that not only was that not happening, but that I’d probably not be driving myself anywhere for the next nine months.I just knew him as the sinfully gorgeous guy with eyes of fire that fate sat next to me on the airplane. When college freshman Rowan Michaels meets gorgeous, up-and-coming rock star Adam Everest, she knows a player like him is the last thing she needs after her ex-boyfriend shattered her heart. I’ve had this on my kindle for a few months, and it wasn’t until the audio version released that I decided to take the plunge.

They glaze over, shining with wonder like a deep, dark seas, and I can’t bring myself to look away from him. Women throw themselves at him and he doesn’t mind saying yes but he makes it clear he doesn’t do sleepovers and he never gives out his number. He’s arrogant, self-centered, and the man doesn’t seem to know what a filter is, let alone how to use one.He inches closer and closer until he’s leaning halfway over my body, gripping my hand so tight it hurts. Some hockey romances have done well and gotten a lot of attention, so of course more authors have jumped on the bandwagon for that reason too.

Mack does an excellent job of showcasing the growth in intimacy, the build of the relationship, and puts it to the test to make sure they got it right. I dress for me, not for him, but his love language is physical touch, and the less clothes covering me, the more skin-to-skin contact he gets. Now, though, she's back in their hometown of Shelton Bay, South Carolina, at the same time Conner's band Dirty B. His career is at its peak, his team is performing better than ever, and there’s no shortage of women to spend the night with. The guys were a great group and I appreciated how they could genuinely count on each other’s support and also be vulnerable with each other. So of course she isn't interested in legendary team captain Alex Waters or his pretty, beat-up face and rock-hard six-pack abs. Now there's a new man in my life, one who isn't afraid to go after what he wants, and what he wants. I can't say that I recommend this as a workday listen though - there are steamy situations throughout, lots of language, and, honestly, the story is so good that you might find it too distracting to work, lol.

He’s had everything served to him on a silver platter, including endless strings of women, and apparently, I’m up next. The first part of the book is him chasing her, her rebuffing him, them being thrown together by friends who, for reasons, suddenly think it’s a great idea they get together and him realising just who she is to him. When I step out of the shower and wrap myself in a towel, Dublin finally decides it’s okay to give me a bit of space. Emmett and Cara’s change of heart about supporting the relationship came out of the blue for reasons which weren’t clear. It was just another day for Paxton Myles on the red carpet until the blue-eyed beauty literally stumbles at his feet.

I get it, she wants to be comfy and likes to take off her shoes in other people's houses and walk around barefoot. I’ll hide this under a spoiler tag as it discusses – albeit vaguely – things very late in the book so it might be mildly spoilerish. I generally scroll past them so that I can get to the Author’s Afterword or Acknowledgments because I like to read those too and they seem to be placed after all the extra stuff. If she’s mad at him then there’s no reason for her to hang out with him a couple of days later and act like everything’s cool. And having a smitten hero is its own reward, with some incredibly heartwarming moments between them.
