Although, with all the goings on, I can’t really say this six-parter felt padded; just maybe a bit underwhelming. Since the BBC have now demonstrated that they have no problem releasing an incomplete season on Blu-ray, anything goes.

In this noteworthy two-part adventure, the Doctor actually sleeps through the TARDIS materialising, and even after landing on the planet Dido, he wants nothing more than another nap. But here… at first, I’m sure they were excited — getting to design an alien, humanoid, butterfly species! Also featured is the less remembered The Web Planet, with its giant ant-creatures, the Zarbi, at war with the peace-loving moth people, the Menoptra. Appropriately, we have Carol Ann Ford, Maureen O’Brien and Peter Purves telling their stories and providing opinions on stories that they were not involved in.The Doctor’s separated from Steven and Vicki for most of this one, but that may have been to spotlight the two companions as they get to know each other. I assume most people reading this are already familiar with Doctor Who, so I'll just say that this was David Tennant's first season as the 10th Doctor, and is for the most part great fun to watch. Behind this cover is another piece of artwork, with the type of artwork varying from season to season. Finally, with new companion Steven Taylor in tow, Season 2 finishes on a real high note with The Time Meddler.

There are galleries and… well, reconstructions of the second and fourth episodes of the story which have been lost. The discs have little chance of getting damaged, unlike some of the case sets I have bought recently. I know actors don't like being trapped in a role, but I could watch David Tennant in this role forever. The introduction of Peter Butterworth as The Monk is a sublime bit of casting within an excellent story.

The Season 12 and 19 releases matched that of the UK Collectors Edition releases, minus the J-card, which was slightly different. I was expecting a drawn out fiasco to get some resolution but instead found instant refund with this more than fair top seller.
