About this deal

The illustrations were very disappointing. There are very few throughout the book which is a shame as magic could be so much fun to play around with and add some extra excitement to the story however most of the illustrations were just characters not doing anything, just standing there either holding something or looking at someone. Where's all the magic?!

Our guide on how to run a school book club, which covers both primary school book clubs and secondary school book clubs. Based on his own Story, Stephen Mulhern poured all of his passion into the creation of Max Magic. Like his character Max, Stephen grew up in East London on his family's market stall and didn't have the easiest of starts at school. Writing this book was his way of finding his confidence and it's his hope that this book will make kids laugh and help them feel braver and that no matter what your circumstances - anything is possible! I'm sure there will be more Max Magic adventures to come, hopefully without any mention of guns or knives. Max Magic is a passion project for me. It’s based on my own story. I grew up in the East End on my family’s market stall, I had a tough time at school and I didn’t always believe in myself. Magic was my way of finding my confidence. I hope this book will make a lot of kids laugh, and help them to feel braver, bolder, and discover that anything is possible – just like Max .’This is probably tailored more to school children but regardless me and my little sister loved this book! The illustrations are great and nostalgic, and the author has written in a very engaging way. Max's character was fun to learn about, and seeing him carry on the family tradition of being a magician. The book also covers standing up to bullies and self-confidence which is great! It is a simple book and somewhat predictable but perfect for children. Messages from the story like standing up for what is right were covered well and are relevant to the children in this time. Inspired by Stephen Mulhern's incredible story of his journey to becoming a magician, performer and TV star. Reality Bites". ITV Press Centre. Archived from the original on 23 January 2015 . Rolling In It Episode 1". Press Centre. Archived from the original on 18 April 2021 . Retrieved 7 August 2020. The UNBELIEVABLE new series for boys and girls aged 7-11, from superstar TV presenter and magician, Stephen Mulhern!

These hashtag days might provide current and relevant talking points for secondary-aged pupils aged 13+ in KS3, KS4 and KS5, especially when linked to related literature. Can Max beat the horrible Bottley the Bully and save his dad’s East End market stall from the Crayfish Twins, the local meanies? ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE! Aimed at probably the over 8s market - I'm obviously too old for the tales of Max Magic - but I enjoyed it none the less. Although I am not the target audience for Max Magic I really enjoyed this entertaining book about friends working together and using their skills to defeat bullies. Max loves magic, he practises in front of his friends every day, unfortunately some people don't like the magic and he gets bullied.

The overall aesthetic is really nice immediately enticing the target audience with a striking cover and bright sprayed edges. Presenters: Stephen Mulhern". 17 October 2013. Archived from the original on 27 April 2016 . Retrieved 6 March 2021. After teasing a “big announcement” on social media, Stephen finally revealed what he was up to last night (April 21).An experienced all-round entertainer who has toured the UK with his variety and magic shows, Stephen is the face of Butlins, a BAFTA-winning magician, and co-creator and producer of the P&O Cruises exclusive magic and illusion show Astonishing. There are also many diverse characters, which is great to see when diversity and inclusion in publishing, particularly children’s books, is very important so children can see themselves represented in books. The book is written in a dyslexic-friendly font, making it accessible to all. Mulhern regularly presented inside 'The Hub', a small segment on the ITV daytime show This Morning. He most recently hosted the segment on Thursday and Friday mornings although had previously hosted on Wednesdays and Thursdays until the departure of Matt Johnson in the summer of 2013. Mulhern has occasionally presented the main show, standing in for the regular presenters. In 2019, Mulhern presented In For A Penny, which is based on a segment he presents on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway of the same name. [24] Inspired by The Great British Bake Off, Nancy launched her own wedding cake business - although she is now not allowed to apply for the show
