I need to decide if I'm going to read them as they come out, or wait for the rest to be published, or switch to the fan translation. I just love how close they are getting but my favorite thing is how we get Xie Lian confessing that he has feelings for Hua Cheng to himself. Watching your beloved be trampled and ridiculed with your own eyes and being unable to do a thing about it. We continue novel four still in the web novel version of book three and we continue where we left off which is getting into the Black Water Demon arc.

Knowing that his abysmal luck inoculates him from the creature’s power, Xie Lian doesn’t hesitate to throw himself into harm’s way—to Hua Cheng’s horror and panic. But being here means we are one stop closer to the web novel book four 😥😭 and I’m not ready for all that pain. But it’s also bittersweet because he has spent so long having no bodily autonomy and never experienced the pleasures of love so he doesn’t express this to Hua Cheng obviously.

And then when you think about how Shi Wudu dies and no longer has to live with the consequences but the other two do. The Venerable of Empty Words, a monster that feeds off the fears of the fortunate, is hunting Xie Lian’s friend, the Wind Master Shi Qingxuan. This arc is focused on the past shared between Shi Qingxuan, his brother Shi Wudu, and He Xuan the supreme ghost Black Water Sinking Ships.

Everything is, of course, very innocent because Xie Lian - God bless him Heaven Official's Blessing be upon him - still has no idea what's going on! He roughly pinned Xie Lian down on top of the jade table, scattering ink, paper, and brushes across the floor. Yeah, I know he's actually kind of a villain, not my fault I like to collect poor little meow meows, but he has such a potential as a charachter. I was just so happy to see what I thought were girlfriends and then later on what I thought were boyfriends.So many amazing scenes - the coffin scene every fanfic is written about, the make out session that's depicted on the cover, as well as so much horror and sadness when it comes to other characters. We get so many kisses including the altar kiss when Hua Cheng is affected by Mount Tonglu and also the coffin scene when they are in Black Waters lair. I’m keeping this review short because you should already be starting the book, not sitting here reading this!

That leads us to the arc in which He Xuan after successfully infiltrating as a heavenly official for years success in luring both brothers to his domain. Her series have enormously popular multimedia adaptations and have been published in numerous languages around the world. Before he could utter another word, Hua Cheng grabbed him by the shoulders and leaned down into a kiss.Like it’s such a nuanced plot between all three of them and you can really sympathize with each of them in some way. Volume 5 won't be out until later this month, and I don't know when I'll be able to get a copy of it from any of the library systems I have access to. I never liked Shi Wudu but I have to admit that he loved his didi with all his heart and that he just wanted to protect him even when it didn't seem like it, so I can't really hate him.
