About this deal

The second thing you need to know is it’s stunning. This was Dustin Weaver’s first big project at Marvel. He went on to draw what I thought was the best Secret Wars tie-in, Infinity Gauntlet. As for story beats that are important, the Immortal City (SHIELD headquarters beneath Rome) shows up again in Avengersand Avengers World, and of course, Nathaniel Richards is very important to Fantastic Four. What to Read: That said the series has had its high points and low points. This run is definitely one of the high points.

Schedeen, Jesse (December 2, 2008). "Uncovering the Secret Warriors". IGN. Archived from the original on November 10, 2013. X-Men vol. 5 (with Leinil Francis Yu, R. B. Silva (#5), Matteo Buffagni (#6), Mahmud Asrar (#8, 13–15, 19), Phil Noto (#16), Brett Booth (#17–18) and Francesco Mobili (#20), 2019–2021) collected as: These also happen to be a handful of my favorite artists, especially Epting, Dragotta, and Tocchini and they all obviously know how special this run is and their layouts are fantastic. Breaking Ultimate Universe News at New York Comic Con! Children of the Vault! | CBH Live! October 20, 2023If you need something more portable, there is a two volume complete edition, but be warned: if you’re going to read SHIELDin the middle of reading Secret Warriors, it should be read after issue 19, the end of “The Last Ride of the Howling Commandos” and like, the third issue of the second volume. Secret Warriors Complete Collection Volume 1 Secret Warriors Complete Collection Volume 2 The two Richards children are key elements and hilarious hi-jinks ensure when the adults are out and Norman Oswald (the former Green Goblin) shows up as head of government law enforcement agency (Shield/Hammer) to take them into custody. The conclusion of Bendis and Leinel Francis Yu’s event Secret Invasion sets the stage for the rise of Norman Osborn as Fury’s successor, and the start of Marvel’s “Dark Reign.” Unwilling to let villains run the show, and trapped with a gut feeling that there’s something more sinister at play in this hostile takeover, Fury assembles a rag tag team of superpowered misfits known as his Secret Warriors. Marvel cleverly closes out this volume of the omni with the sort of rising tension that'll make you want to start volume two straight away! Allstetter, Rob (September 21, 2016). "IMAGE COMICS FOR DECEMBER". Comics Continuum. Archived from the original on September 26, 2016.

What You Need To Know: That Thorand Hawkeyeare inconsequential and unnecessary to read unless you are an Ultimate Marvel completist or you want to see where half of Hawkeye’s characterization from the MCU came from. Ultimate Comics: Ultimates, however, ended up being critical not just to Secret Wars, but to Fantastic Four. Collects: Avengers (2012) 1-23, New Avengers (2013) 1-12, Free Comic Book Day 2013: Infinity 1, Infinity 1-6, Infinity: Against The Tide Infinite Comic 1-2, Astonishing Tales: Mojoworld 1-6, Material From Shang-Chi: Master Of Kung Fu (2009) 1 The art on these comics is beautiful and you might find yourself just stopping reading to stare at the art many times. The New Avengers vol. 3 (with Steve Epting, Mike Deodato, Jr., Simone Bianchi, Rags Morales (#16–17), Valerio Schiti (#18–21, 24), Kev Walker, Szymon Kudranski (#27) and Mike Perkins (#28), 2013–2015) collected as:FF#1-12 and Fantastic Four #600. Wow… wow… and wow. Spider-Man, the Freedom Foundation, the monochrome suits, the strange alliances, Inhumans, Kree, Subterraneans, Atlanteans, the Annihilation horde, the kids, the grandad, and the alternate rogue Reeds... finally the Fantastic Four (well since Stan Lee days) is at the top of its game! 8 out of 12 Doom is still dissatisfied with his progress, though, so he stops killing Molecule Men and starts collecting them, and shortly after he reunites with Strange, the three of them head off to the rift where Thorperion (that’s my ‘ship name) died fighting the Beyonders. Doom flips them the bird, then throws 200,000 Molecule Men through the rift, killing them all (and, we soon find out, releasing their power, which gets stored…somewhere). The disconnected nature of the early stories has its downsides. There's a major character death in the last quarter of this omni - I'm being vague, but y'all know who I'm talking about - and his death honestly feels a bit unexpected. If I reread the book, I might see how it was foreshadowed throughout, but on the first go, it sure felt like it came out of nowhere and didn't hit as hard as it could have. Nominated for "Best Continuing Series" for East of West and "Best Writer" Eisner Award for East of West, The Manhattan Projects, The Avengers, and Infinity [34] However, if you are reading the story in single issues or single volume trades, here’s how you should read them: Dark Reign: Fantastic Four Fantastic Four volume 1 Fantastic Four volume 2 Fantastic Four volume 3 Fantastic Four volume 4 FF volume 1 FF volume 2

New Avengers follows this group as they collectively make terrible, villainous decisions (like mindwiping Captain America after the Infinity Gems shatter when they use them to repel one incursion) in an effort to try and stop these incursions. Sometimes that means trying to cover one up when it happens over Doom’s castle in Latveria; sometimes that means selling your soul to the Great Old Ones for the power to repel an Earth (as Dr. Strange did); sometimes that means killing the Justice League with an antimatter bomb (as Namor did). Collects: Secret Warriors 1-16, Dark Reign: The List – Secret Warriors 1, Material From Dark Reign: New Nation 1 Richards, Dave (February 13, 2009). "The Osborn Supremacy: Fantastic Four". CBR.com.
