About this deal

The Devil's Rain" is the judgment of all others who stand before us, like a prophecy. The old B-movie was an influence to some of the lyrics, but the song itself is as if the heavens opened and swallowed our enemies. They have...and a new “rain” of terror begins" The first US pressing, (as well as the Italian issued import), of the 1982 released LP featured a pink logo and pink cover. The second pressing introduced the purple cover commonly known today. When the album was reissued in 1988, the logo was switched to green and has remained that way since. In connection with the 1988 re-release, Warner Brothers circulated promotional copies of album in custom printed Misfits Halloween bags that have become collector items themselves. It’s estimated that approx. 3,000 of the promo Halloween bags were circulated in 1988. The 1997 live version of Monster Mash (from the B-side of the glow in the dark vinyl single) was provided for completists, but Roadrunner A&R chose not to include it on the comp, using only the A-side studio version from the 1999 single instead. Following the legal proceedings sparked by the “Legacy” album, fans would finally hear many classic-era Misfits recordings as they were originally intended, starting with the long awaited release of the legendary “Static Age” album in 1996. Project 1950 was the first full-length release from the newly launched indie label “Misfits Records” and the first to be distributed under the deal with Rykodisc (now Rykodisc/Warner Bros) as exclusive distributor.

A limited edition of 3,000 pcs pressed on neon-green vinyl was released in Europe, which is also sold out and long out of print.

Two cuts of the “Bones” video were released, both identical except for an intro utilizing the Universal Pictures logo of the 1930’s and a dialogue based clip from the “Bride of Frankenstein”. The box set also includes 30 rare never before released alternate versions and out-takes from the band’s legendary recording sessions including the original versions of “Cough Cool”&“She” from the Misfits first single (1977), the famous MSP sessions (1980) and lots more.
