About this deal

What’s most surprising is the use of guava and pineapple as the main accenting flavors. This gives Tabasco scorpion an interesting twist. But guess what? It works. So, to bring things full circle, today I’ll share my review of Tabasco Scorpion hot sauce. This is the hottest sauce that Tabasco currently offers, using scorpion peppers as a main ingredient. Let’s get into it! Tabasco Brand Pepper Sauce was the very first hot sauce I ever tried. I was in my 10s, and I said a bad word. A dab of Tabasco was my punishment. Our TABASCO ® Raspberry Chipotle Sauce is blended with a vibrant raspberry puree to make a sweet and smoky hot sauce that goes great with beef, fish or fowl. It is also a fantastic vinaigrette ingredient for salads! TABASCO ® Roasted Red Pepper Sauce is made with red peppers–slow roasted over open fire–combined with garlic, onions, basil and balsamic vinegar. The result is a rich, smoky hot sauce perfect with grilled meats, seafood, soups and much more.

The heat will be too much for some, so it’s not as usable as the original – but it’s still plenty usable. TABASCO ® SWEET & Spicy is our mildest hot sauce offering, and it’s great as a dip, a glaze for grilling meats or a base ingredient in a salad dressing. Of course, it’s also fantastic splashed on top of your favorite foods.Since Tabasco Original Red Sauce is in the mix, anywhere you’d use the original you could give Tabasco Scorpion a go. Though it’s a little sweeter than a typical Louisiana-style hot sauce, so keep that sweetness in mind. It’s an excellent choice for sweeter dishes where Tabasco Original may have been too vinegar-forward to play. I added it to pineapple sorbet, and it changed the eating experience completely (in a good way.) Looking for a hot sauce with intense heat? This sauce–made from a combination of scorpion peppers blended with guava, pineapple and a dash of TABASCO ® Sauce–is tangy in flavor with untamed heat and a touch of Caribbean sweetness. In addition to the online Country Store, TABASCO ® Scorpion Sauce is now available at select Kroger stores in the United States. That said, Tabasco Habanero Sauce doesn’t reach anywhere near the hab’s potential. It comes in at 7,000 SHU, which nestles it right in between Tabasco Original (2,500 SHU) Tabasco Scorpion (7,000 SHU). And, of course, it’s way hotter than Tabasco Green Pepper Sauce (600 to 1,200 SHU). It’s right in line with the spiciness you experience when eating a fresh jalapeño pepper (2,500 to 8,000 SHU). If you’re a Tabasco fan, this is no doubt a fun collectible. Tabasco Scorpion was supposed to be a limited edition, but people went crazy for it so now it’s here to stay. On the sodium-level: this isn’t a sauce for those looking to curb their sodium intake. Tabasco Habanero has 120 mg per teaspoon serving, which is 5% of your daily allowance. That’s very high compared to the brand’s Original Red (35 mg). Heat Balance

One of the first questions you may have about Tabasco scorpion hot sauce is, “how hot is it?” This being the spiciest sauce they make, how far above the original sauce does it land? This exclusive hot sauce was once reserved for only the McIlhenny family and close friends, but now you can enjoy this flavor any time! TABASCO ® Family Reserve Sauce is made from special, hand-selected peppers and Avery Island salt. The unique pepper mash is aged for up to eight years in white oak barrels–much longer than the three-year aging process for TABASCO ® Original Red Sauce–and blended with white wine vinegar. People don’t expect this level of heat from Tabasco, so it makes an excellent conversation starter. It carries a legend’s name, but with surprise inside! It’s sort of the needed addition to the Tabasco line to give it street-cred with the real hot sauce heat-seekers out there. Tabasco Habanero is still a relatively thin sauce, so the stopper helps control how much heat you’re adding. That said, you can get a few good dashes in before you really start sweating things out. Collectibility To round out the sauce, Tabasco actually uses their own original sauce as an ingredient. I find this amusing, but it probably helps make Tabasco’s newer sauces hit closer to home.

Types of Hot Sauce

Tabasco Scorpion is sort of a sauce within a sauce. The ingredients are: Scorpion peppers, distilled vinegar, sugar, guava puree, pineapple, salt, guava powder, pineapple powder, TABASCO® Brand Pepper Sauce (distilled vinegar, red pepper, salt). The onion in the sauce also brings a nice earthy zing. And thankfully the cane sugar doesn’t come on too strong — it adds just enough sweetness to level off the heat and it’s not too distracting.
