There are too many pages of memories (all italicized and reading italics is a pain) and too much sentimental snuffling by Dog. When she and her friends learn that the witch-palace of Icegaard is in grave danger, they must battle frightening new monsters and find a way to defeat the evil force.

De spannende gebeurtenissen volgen elkaar snel op, waardoor het van belang is om je hoofd er bij te houden. Die Autorin Aisling Fowler hat mit „Feuerblut – Die Reise zum Frostpalast“ einen packenden Fantasyroman geschrieben. Phoenix's journey is as compelling as always, and there are so many good moments for my favourite character, Five, as well as some new and fun characters joining the team. Pero también más sobre las brujas y la magia, sin mencionar que el Palacio helado y su ubicación me han parecido muy curioso y me ha gustado bastante.

The novel follows Twelve, who has become a hunter and chosen a new name to reflect her element power-phoenix. This series has my heart and I cannot wait for the third and final instalment, which I believe is coming in early 2024, thank goodness!There are some good ideas story ideas and the twists at the end are very good, but the middle section is pretty blah. I have even talked the head into a little revamp of the library so that we can display them properly! The continuing storyline in this series doesn't shy away from difficult topics, like grief, jealousy, betrayal and is quite dark at times.
