About this deal

The HeadRush MX5 comes preloaded with 270 factory presets covering a huge variety of genres and styles. You can restore your factory presets by holding footswitch 2+3 (the two right footswitches on the bottom row) while powering on the HeadRush MX5. Keep holding these two switches until you see "Reverting..." displayed on the 4" touchscreen. If an item can not be repaired, a similar alternative product or cash discount (as defined in this policy) will be offered You should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail. In Advanced Mode, you can assign up to four parameters to each expression pedal (A and B). Moving the pedal will adjust all of its assigned parameters simultaneously. Using the toe switch will select the other expression pedal and leave the current pedal’s parameters active and at their maximum values.

MusicRadar verdict: A compact form factor, intuitive design and top-tier amp emulations make the MX5 a worth new addition to the HeadRush lineup, and a neat way to augment your pedalboard with serious modelling power. HeadRush MX5: The web says

Most standard expression pedals will work with the HeadRush MX5. We recommend the M-Audio EX-P expression pedal.

The MX5 is a product of this evolution, and its user interface is as friendly as it comes, making light work of putting together complex signal chains and stereo setups that really get the best out of some of the modulation and delay sounds on offer. The switches on the HeadRush MX5 are dual-purpose: holding down the switch will enter hands-free edit mode, and letting go initiates the action of the assigned pedal (on/off). This means that a model will not turn on/off until the associated pedal is released, which may differ from some standalone pedals that active/deactivate on the initial press.Yes. Some of our amp models include their onboard tremolo, but there is also a tremolo pedal model that can be used separately. The HeadRush amp and FX library is continuously expanding. Users have spoken and the creators have listened, delivering with two new amp models, a host of new FX, the ability to assign two scenes to one footswitch, and a slew of improvements and optimisations for existing FXs and the UI. Using the hands-free edit mode, you can adjust any parameter without having to bend over. Hold the footswitch assigned to the model that you want to adjust, select the parameter, and use the expression pedal to fine-tune your settings.

The Headrush MX5 Multi-Effects processor is here to show your tone a good time. This modelling guitar effects processor has everything you need (and more) to start experimenting with your music like never before. It has a vast array of different amp models and cab simulators, so you can choose anything from a crystal-clean, sparkling clean amp to an all-our, war-ready gain machine. A host of effects models are also included, so you can add some shimmering delay and reverb, as well many other effects, to your sound. Collection and delivery costs are included for the first 2 years in the event of an item becoming faulty Models can be freely combined to form a Rig (HeadRush’s term for a preset), a process that is based around the touchscreen, with or without the use of the encoder knob. Each rig has 11 slots, and these can be arranged as a single 11‑slot chain, a chain of three that then splits into two parallel three‑slot chains, each feeding a two‑channel stereo mixer, whose output feeds the final two slots, or two parallel four‑slot chains, which are mixed together to feed a final three‑slot chain. Saved rigs are stored in the MX5’s Rigs folder. Once you’ve built your rigs, you can group these into Setlists, which are also stored in their own eponymous folder. Naturally, the Setlist feature is useful in live situations, but it also gives you an extremely convenient way of organising rigs. As with IRs, Rigs and Setlists can be managed on a USB‑connected computer. Gapless preset-switching is an exclusive feature on the HeadRush MX5 and means that any reverb or delay-tails will continue to ring out, even after changing your preset or rig. This way there is no break in the signal, making your rig changes sound fluid and seamless. For a demonstration, see the video here. Yes, you can do this by holding the bottom left footswitch and selecting the Rig, or Stomp views accordingly.

HeadRush makes its play for the compact amp modeling crown

The following system requirements are the minimum specifications required for using the HeadRush MX5 with your computer: Like the Gigboard and the Pedalboard, the new MX5 features 46 amplifier models, 15 cabinet models (each with 10 microphone emulations), 300 impulse responses, and 63 modelled effects. Also like its stablemates, the MX5 can store a virtually unlimited number of third‑party IRs alongside those from the factory. Using the built‑in USB Transfer Function, which makes the unit appear as an external drive to Windows or Mac computers, the onboard IRs can be copied, dragged and dropped to and from the computer and the MX5’s onboard Impulse Responses folder. Can I turn off the amp/cab models for specific outputs or send my guitar directly to an output with no amp modeling applied at all? Yes. Our 8-Bit Crush model gives you a wide variety of grimey crushing sounds. You can even individually mute or invert any of the 8-bits.

The MX5 feels like a more powerful beast than the full-fat floorboard did onits original release. It’s priced competitively, and can replace several pedals on a compact ’board. For players assembling complex but static chains it might even replace a whole pedalboard.” The HeadRush MX5 is the newest and most streamlined multi-fx module from HeadRush! This article will answer the most frequently asked questions to get you up to speed on the massive potential of the MX5! The two new amps consist of the sparkling clean guitar 84 J-120H, based on a pristine clean solid-state model that's known for lush, enveloping sounds. Meanwhile bassists will love the new 83 400R amp which offers classically smooth and characterful tones. However, the Gear4music extended warranty scheme provides an enhanced service, and is designed to offer a higher level of protection than many 'free' warranties offered by some retailers and manufacturers.Connectors: (1) ¼-Inch (6.35 Mm) Mono Input (Guitar), (1) ¼-Inch (6.35 Mm) TRS Input (Expression Pedal), (1) ¼-Inch (6.35 Mm) Stereo Output (Send), (1) ¼-Inch (6.35 Mm) Stereo Input (Return), (2) ¼-Inch (6.35 Mm) Balanced Output (Main), (1) 1/8-Inch (3.5 Mm) Stereo Output (Headphones), (1) 1/8-Inch (3.5 Mm) Stereo Input (Auxiliary Device), (1) 1/8-Inch (3.5 Mm) MIDI Output, (1) 1/8-Inch (3.5 Mm) MIDI Input, (1) USB Type-B Port, (1) DC Power Adapter Input When you press this footswitch, you can "punch-in/punch-out" of a specific part of your loop and overwrite all previous layers. This is useful when you need to fix a very small part of a loop. Effects are excellent, but if pushed we would argue units such as the Boss GT-1000 Core and Line 6’s HX Stomp have the edge on that score. Still, we would wager that with the size of this unit, many players would choose to keep their favourite stompboxes in circulation and integrate them to the signal path via the effects loop. And remember, the MX5 has an expression pedal, which could give it the edge.
