About this deal

I think Shatter Me is hands down the best book series I’ve read and I’ve read a lot of books. The Shatter me series has so many aspects that make it amazing, but I’ll name the main ones.

Shatter Me was Mafi’s debut novel and was published when she was only 23 years old. The original trilogy went on to be translated into more than 30 languages and sell more than a million copies. This wall, in particular, is not so white as to be offensive, but a sharp enough shade of white to pique my curiosity, which is nothing short of a miracle, really, because I’ve been staring at it for the greater part of an hour. Thirty-seven minutes, to be exact. As such, the romance in Shatter Me is all very PG-13. There is no smut or explicitly sexual content. In full disclosure, it’s been a really long time since I read the the first batch of Shatter Me books. And story? What story? *sigh* It's about time we just opened up an entirely new genre called "Dystopian Romance" or alternatively "Romantic Dystopia", though I don't wish to be pessimistic, I'm pretty sure half the new releases of 2012 will make it into that category. If there was a story then it drowned amidst the waves of overenthusiastic and flowery prose. This reminded me of Article 5 in that the dystopia was there to make the romance interesting. One was certainly there to complement the other, but it was the wrong way around.

Mafi's writing style flows so freely, with such potency, with such raw unfiltered emotion, and with such soul searching analogies that it's impossible not to get absolutely captivated by every word! I'm in awe of her ability to connect her readers with her characters and their plights. Now Kenji is in the center and a bunch of other character whom i forgot their names but somehow deserved their own chapters Jullietts "i am not insane" repeated over and over is immitating Carden's letter to Jude in the Cruel Prince (I also remember seeing the same thing in another older book but cant remember the name) Non succede nulla o quasi. 3 libri e 2 novelle, e forse (e sottolineiamo "forse") l'unico volume in cui avvengono avvenimenti che portano avanti la trama è il secondo, poi per il resto il nulla. Il triangolo amoroso porta via il 90% della storia e il word-building è di fatto inesistente. Mi aspettavo un po' di azione nel libro finale, ma la Mafi liquida tutta la faccenda negli ultimissimi capitoli, con un anticlimax da paura (il cattivone muore in due secondi, grazie ad un piano che fa acqua da tutte le parti messo in piedi da una banda di ragazzetti che dovrebbero essere la versione poraccia degli Avengers...seriously?);

Well sweetheart, so did everone else in this series even your precious Warner, but you dont see them cower in the corner refusing to participate! I catch the rose petals as they fall from my cheeks, as they float around the frame of my body, as they cover me in something that feels like the absence of courage." The only reason I gave this book 4 and not 5 stars is because I really dislike Adam and Juliette as a couple. But do we excuse him for shouting at J. for wanting to bring W. Into the fold and not understanding the trauma Adam went through? Oh no how could he shout at poor defenssless J who needed the blond guy to rescue her!!!!

What To Read Next

Breathtaking, wonderful, stunning.... I could use any of those words to describe this series but they would all be understatement. I get Juliette instant attraction to Adam, first person to be able to touch her her whole life? Shes gonna feel something. That something however is not love, if anything its lust and the first taste of friendship she’s ever had all mushed up. And that’s being generous to Mr Dull Potato Adam. The only redeeming quality to Adam is his love for is brother James. I do love it when YA shows some good sibling relationships. Aaron offers Juliette a proposition that involves her becoming a member of The Reestablishment. However, due to her powers of destruction they only plan to use her to silence individuals who question The Reestablishment. After a horrifying experience for Juliette where she is made to torture a man and an infant she is maintained in captivity with Adam as her guard, but here they begin to develop a budding romance.
