About this deal

I received this book free in return for an honest review. I really had high hopes for this one based on the description. Unfortunately a huge chunk of the book drags. A lot. For that reason I occasionally had to force myself to continue. But I digress. I met Caroline at an author/blogger meet up in Stoke-on-Trent. I had a promo postcard from her and the book sounded just my cup of tea. What a lovely lady she is, and she had a good natter with everyone. She had some fab trousers on, if only I had the legs to carry them off! Then I'm sorry but for most of the book I just could not stand Dan. If he wanted to be with someone else, a man at that - why the hell did he agree to have a baby with his girlfriend?? It's not like they got pregnant on accident, they discussed it first. The fact that he was cheating on her with a man through the pregnancy just got me. Now that the kid is here you finally decide you want to be honest about what you feel?! Really??

I can't say I like any of them. They all are so flawed, so disturbing, but then, I'm sure that's what the author was hoping for ... and it worked. I got so wrapped up in all the angst and uncertainty and anger and wondering who was going to break and admit to something horrendous, that it was impossible to put this book down for any reason. The unexpected ending was my favorite part. At Its heart "My Husbands Lies" was for me a book about relationships and the tangled threads they can weave. Drawing on her days as a divorce and professional indemnity lawyer, she loves to create ordinary, relatable characters who get caught up in extraordinary situations, pressures, dilemmas or crime. She admits to a slight obsession with the human psyche, what goes on behind closed doors and beneath people’s façades. She also enjoys performing a literary sleight of hand in her novels and hopefully surprising her readers!Thank you to Avon via Netgalley for providing a digital copy of My Husband’s Lies by Caroline England for review. All opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own personal opinions. You own the entire property together – known as joint tenants. This means the whole property would go to your partner if one of you were to die. My Husband's Lies is a noir thriller written by Caroline England. It is also the first book I have read written by this author. If my enjoyment of this novel is anything to go by then I would be definitely interested in reading her other work. Or he might be avoiding the issue out of fear that you’ll point out everything he’s doing wrong and put all the blame on him. He might feel there’s no point in working on a relationship that no longer makes either of you happy.

An abuser may speak to you like they know better than you and have your best interest in mind. "It may be constant or infrequent, but the bottom line is that you feel off-center and downright crazy. Many of my clients describe it as a constant questioning of their [knowledge] and an undermining of their own intuition," Renye says of gaslighting. This is one of the reasons it's so important to speak with trusted confidantes who can remind you that your thoughts and feelings are valid, like friends, family members, or a therapist. 8. They speak for, or over, you. This is a delicious read. It is not suspenseful. It is twisty. Unexpected. Dramatic. And this won't be the last book by Caroline England that I read. This particular husband is bisexual and will watch, as well as give me oral sex. He especially likes the humiliation of seeing his wife enjoy sex with another man. It’s wonderful when a local author “does good” so I’m overjoyed that Manchester ex-lawyer Caroline England continues her successful writing career with another best selling domestic noir. After the wonderful Beneath The Skin, here is another slice of deliciously dark and intensely voyeuristic look into the lives of a group of friends. If you’re one of those people who looks at their neighbours and acquaintances wondering if their rosy life is as perfect behind closed doors then this is the book for you!

Caroline England does a great job of depicting her characters, all so very human, so very fallible. There did seem to be a lot of characters initially, confusingly so, and I had a bit of trouble keeping who was who straight. At that point the whole 'alternating point of view narration' only made it more confusing, but that wore off as the book progressed, and My Husband’s Lies became intriguing. Right to the end, I had no idea where it was going to go. And now, he couldn’t be bothered. He doesn’t make an effort to surprise you or to make you smile. He barely shows appreciation for the things you do (if he does at all). No matter what challenge I’m facing, I know you’re rooting for me; you’re my loudest and most authentic cheerleader. Everyone should feel so supported. Like most of us, Caroline England's beautifully created characters would like to think they are honest and straightforward people. But how well do we really know about our friends? Enough to trust them with all our secrets - and to keep theirs? This is one of the most thought-provoking novels of recent times and it will make you look at almost everyone you know with suspicion in your soul. Very few relationships are completely and totally honest but this bunch really take the biscuit!

Every time I think of you, my heart overflows with joy and happiness. You are the best thing that ever happened to me. I love the way you look at me, the way you hold me, the way you make me feel. You are mine forever and always. The death of a loved one is always a very said occasion and changing the Land Registry records is probably the last thing to be considered. At some point, however, it should be done. The method of doing so is simple and costs little to do. This article will explain what steps to take, what forms needs to be completed, and how to obtain the forms for free. Every moment spent with you is a precious memory that I hold close to my heart. I love you more and more every day. Or if you see a problem, it’s of your own making. He gaslights you and makes you doubt your perspective on the relationship. He makes you feel as though you’re the one ruining everything. And you shouldn’t be surprised if he gets fed up enough to leave you.

If you’re renting

One thing I must advise other readers before attempting this book is to really pay attention, it really takes a lot of focus to stay on top of things with its many many characters and the switching between them. A single scene could last over numerous chapters but is retold using the point of view of each character. He didn’t bother to remember your last birthday, let alone celebrate it with you. And the previous anniversary was just another day to him. It wasn’t worth the hassle of going out together or even making a special dinner. You make my life beautiful, my heart full, and my dreams come true. I am endlessly grateful for your love.
