About this deal
There are a lot of photo/video cameras that have found a role as B-cameras on professional film productions or even A-cameras for amateur and independent productions. The D50 is similar to the slightly older D70 using the same CCD sensor, with a slower maximum shutter speed and slightly smaller size; however, it continued to offer the internal focus motor of prior autofocus film and digital SLRs. The D50 is the only entry-level Nikon DSLR to have the autofocus motor ('screw drive') built into the camera body, making the camera backwards-compatible with mechanical-drive autofocus lenses ( Nikkor AF/AF-D series) dating back to 1989. Camera selects focus area containing subject closest to camera; this subject stands out clearly while background details are softened, lending composition sense of depth. These capable cameras should be solid and well-built, have both the speed and focus to capture fast action and offer professional-level image quality.

We've been shooting Google's two newest smartphones on two continents: from the parks of Madrid to the mountains of Washington state and the streets of Seattle. This is in part a testament to the lens too, which performs well for its class: images are well drawn, although detail could be more crisply rendered. in size, the D50 takes SD cards (not CF), it's slightly smaller and lighter than the D70 and several features have been removed or simplified to make the camera easier to use.
