An adaptation for the television series Agatha Christie's Poirot was made for the show's ninth series in 2004. It starred David Suchet as Poirot. Guest stars included Emily Blunt as Linnet, JJ Feild as Simon Doyle, Emma Griffiths Malin as Jacqueline, James Fox as Colonel Race, Frances de la Tour as Salome Otterbourne, Zoe Telford as Rosalie Otterbourne and David Soul as Andrew Pennington. The episode was filmed in Egypt, with many of the scenes filmed on the steamer PS Sudan. Poirot finally explains the real mystery to Race, Miss Robson, and Dr. Bessner. Their first idea, that the murder was conceived on the spur of the moment after the scene in the lounge, was mistaken; in fact, the murder was planned months in advance – by Jacqueline and Simon. When Poirot meets Race, Christie writes: "Hercule Poirot had come across Colonel Race a year previously in London. They had been fellow-guests at a very strange dinner party--a dinner party that had ended in death for that strange man, their host." It is a reference to the novel Cards on the Table.

Louise Bourget is interviewed in Dr. Bessner's cabin, while Bessner is ministering to Simon. She says she saw nothing on the night of the murder but would have done "if" she had left her cabin. This choice of words sounds strange to Poirot. In 2022, 20th Century Fox released another feature film adaptation starring Kenneth Branagh in the lead role. This was the second appearance of Branagh as Poirot after Murder on the Orient Express (2017 film). The plot of this adaptation also includes the non-canonical appearance of Tom Bateman as Bouc from Orient Express. Agatha Christie adapted the novel into a stage play which opened at the Dundee Repertory Theatre on January 17, 1944, under the title of Hidden Horizon and opened in the West End on March 19, 1946, under the title Murder on the Nile and on Broadway on September 19, 1946, under the same title.Hercule Poirot is on holiday and on board a steamer that is touring the Nile River. While on the steamer, Poirot is approached by Linnet Doyle nee Ridgeway, a successful socialite. She wants to hire Poirot and have him prevent her stalker from stalking her. Poirot declines being maid and tries to convince Jacqueline de Bellefort to stop hounding Ridgeway but ultimately fails. In late 1926, Agatha's husband, Archie, revealed that he was in love with another woman, Nancy Neele, and wanted a divorce. On 8 December 1926 the couple quarreled, and Archie Christie left their house, Styles, in Sunningdale, Berkshire, to spend the weekend with his mistress at Godalming, Surrey. That same evening Agatha disappeared from her home, leaving behind a letter for her secretary saying that she was going to Yorkshire. Her disappearance caused an outcry from the public, many of whom were admirers of her novels. Despite a massive manhunt, she was not found for eleven days. Death on the Nile was released by HarperCollins as a graphic novel adaptation on 16 July 2007, adapted by François Rivière and Solidor ( Jean-François Miniac) ( ISBN 0-00-725058-4). This was translated from the edition first published in France by Emmanuel Proust éditions in 2003 under the title of Mort sur le Nil.ABOUT THIS BOOK: The tranquillity of a cruise along the Nile is shattered by the discovery that Linnet Ridgeway has been shot through the head. She was young, stylish and beautiful, a girl who had everything - until she lost her life. In a later review, Robert Barnard wrote that this novel is "One of the top ten, in spite of an overcomplex solution. The familiar marital triangle, set on a Nile steamer." The weakness is that there is "Comparatively little local colour, but some good grotesques among the passengers – of which the film took advantage." He notes a change in Christie's novels with this plot published in 1937, as "Spies and agitators are beginning to invade the pure Christie detective story at this period, as the slide towards war begins." He also has integrity and class… and a really swell mustache! Reading Agatha Christie’s Poirot stories never fail to entertain and to comfort. In my part of the country, we are bracing for a winter storm with heaps of snow and frigid temperatures. The dark, dreary days and the vision of my least favorite season stretching well into March are threatening to cause a case of wintertime funk. Fortunately, I can get lost in a book; and, in this instance, I can further imagine myself far, far away – cruising down the Nile River with Poirot and company. I’ll even take a boatload of potential murderers as my company at this point! Anything to escape for a bit!
