About this deal

Steel-string acoustics and electric guitars are fitted with strings that are physically much tougher, so when you’re pressing down on them, they can hurt a little when starting out. Nylon strings are softer so hurt less, which means you can play for longer stretches without your fingers needing a break. Which body size is best? All 3 guitars are good choices for a beginner. A widely accepted opinion is that a young learner below 7 years of age will do well with a ‘half-size’ guitar. As many a grandfather who has gifted the CGS102A to a young one will attest, a smaller guitar makes learning easy and enjoyable. The guitar still has all the 19 frets, except they are closer to one another and easier to play. Adults with small hands (as also older children up to the age of 12 years) may find the three-fourths’ size CGS103A a good option. The price is affordable and the build is Yamaha A high level of craftmanship and great attention paid to detail results in instruments of outstanding quality. The C series guitars provide excellent cost performance for beginners and young learners with exceptional playability and superb tone. Durability, Stability

It is possible, as some have done, to jump straight from a beginner C40 right onto the CG192 (or a Cordoba C7 or equivalent) by skipping all the in-between line of guitars. It is a massive jump in tonal quality, playability, touch, durability – and the price, of course The CG192S is the flagship instrument of Yamaha’s renowned CG series. It comes with the famous Yamaha sturdy construction using high-quality tonewoods. It continues to be the choice of many intermediate players. In addition to that, these guitars are great for traveling due to the much lighter and compact body. Both Yamaha C40 and C40II are beginner guitars and you should not be expecting anything more than that. They are intended for beginner guitar players and they are offered at really affordable prices. Users who have played both the GC22 and the GC12 (one rung below) say they sound pretty much identical, sharing a rich, resonant quality. It may then come down to whether you love the looks of Mahogany or Rosewood more. A traditional two inch nut width gives you a proper starting point for developing your technique. It is a full scale design, so if you’re used to playing a smaller ¾ scale there might be a bit of a learning curve. When you’re choosing a beginner classical guitar, you essentially want three things. A guitar easy to get to grips with, that sounds good, and one that won’t fall apart. From classical, flamenco and crossover, to acoustic-electric models and beyond, these are the best nylon-string guitars around right now

We’ll cover a couple of models here for they are still within an intermediate guitarist’s grasp in terms of affordability. The coveted CG82 may not be reachable for all. Not even the GC42 perhaps. But a couple of models in the range – GC12 and GC22 – are worth investigating. GC12C/GC12SA full-size affordable classical guitar is great value for money. For someone stepping up from a 3/4 model or entering the classical world for the first time from the acoustic side, this is a good quality introduction to a solid top. Laminated simply means thin slices of wood pasted together. In terms of sound quality and volume, this is inferior to using a single piece of solid wood which resonates evenly and big. I highly recommend my article Solid Wood vs Laminates to help you understand the differences. Yamaha CG122MCH classical guitar Feature The CG142 is aimed at the beginner, perhaps the ambitious beginner who wants a bit more. It is a full size guitar with a full nut width of 2”. The CG Series is the next step up from Yamaha, directed at advanced beginners and intermediate guitarists. There are a few levels of guitar to choose from – depending on the materials used, the crafting and your own sound and design needs. Generally, these guitars are better made with improved volume and response than beginner guitar models.
