Heathers: The Musical” tells the story of high school nobody Veronica Sawyer, whose dreams of popularity start to come true when she is taken under the wings of three beautiful and impossibly cruel Heathers, until mysterious rebel J.D. shows her the deadly consequences of being somebody. The production is based on characters from the 1988 cult classic film, “Heathers,” which is now part of the IP library of Village Roadshow Entertainment Group’s parent company Vine Alternative Investments. The highly anticipated live capture of Heathers: The Musical, which will premiere this March in cinemas across the UK and Ireland, will soon be released on DVD and Blu-Ray. Heatherswas filmed last year at its London home, starring its "homecoming" revival cast featuring Ailsa Davidson, Simon Gordon, and Maddison Firth.

The cast in this version of Heathers is fantastic and in my opinion one of the stronger casts the U.K. have had. Ailsa is one of my favourite Veronica's so it is great to see her portrayal filmed for DVD. She brings a lot of depth to the character and has an incredible voice. I like the relationship she shares with Simon as JD but sometimes I feel like this JD is a bit too nice. The Heathers are brilliantly cast and some of my favourites to watch in the roles. I love the innocence that Teleri brings to Macnamara, the boldness Duke shows and the fierce but lovable character Maddi brings to Chandler and all three of them have amazing voices. I think one of the most disappointing things about the DVD is that there are no subtitles. I personally do not need subtitles but when my friend wanted to turn them on she discovered there was none. This is such a shame as it leaves it inaccessible for those who need subtitles to be able to watch. The cast is led by Carrie Hope Fletcher as Veronica Sawyer, who is set to continue the role as the show transfers into the West End.
