About this deal

The sword weapon is rather ugly. It would have been cooler if the sword and cannon pieces could have separated into two accessories. G1 EARTH MODES AND WEAPONS: Megatron figure converts into classic G1 Cybertronian tank mode in 17 steps and comes with 2 weapon accessories The box features original art by Marcelo Matere [5] of Starscream with Earthrise inspired detailing in robot and vehicle mode laid over a scene of Autobot City.

Part of the retooling for this release involves Megatron getting a whole new set of accessories. Here's a rundown:

Earthrise Soundwave seems pretty similar, if not a slight remold of Siege Soundwave but without all the extra battle damage paint applications. Could this be the mysterious “ G1 Red Soundwave” from a listing we reported before? This toy was repurposed as Generation 1 Starscream in IDW Publishing's Robots in Disguise comics. Part of the third wave of 2012-onwards Generations Deluxe Class toys, Fall of Cybertron Starscream transforms into a Cybertronian jet fighter. He comes with two spinning, triple-barreled "assault cannons" which can combine to form a larger hand-held weapon that is geared to spin its two triple-barrels together, and resembles the Neutron assault rifle from Fall of Cybertron. Each of the weapon halves features two 5 mm posts, as well as a peg-hole on their hollow sides, while the combined form features another peg-hole at the top, but makes the peg-holes on the hollow sides inaccessible. Starscream features numerous 5mm peg-holes, such as his hands, forearms, lower legs, and wing undersides.

All of the parts that were originally cast in unpaintable plastic remain cast in opaque colors, as the unpaintable parts are required for the figure to function. This ultimately means that the full transparent "ghost" effect suffers as a result of the mold layout, since the parts that make up his biceps, forearms and hands are also a part of the unpaintable plastic molds.that said, Earthrise made some weird design choices like carrying forward that collar from the deluxe (which seem unnecessary based on people modding it off) and the somewhatstrange execution of the the thrust nozzles/feet. Accessories: Left & right fists, 2 missile launchers, 2 null-rays, 2 cluster bombs, left & right wings, left & right tail fins, left & right tail wings, landing gear

Like the arms, at first glance it looks like the torso piece is exactly the same as Siege Megatron's, only featuring new deco. However, the two are different, though very similar. The two main distinguishing factors are the small, horizontal triangles on the chest and the mid-body area. The small triangles on Siege Megatron are just indentations. On Earthrise Megatron they feature vertical lines. The other big difference is the section under the chest. On Siege Megatron this area was segmented into a larger section on top and a more narrow one under it. On Earthrise Megatron it is just one large section with the square "control panel" in the center. As Galvatron departs like Mufasa in the clouds, he shows Megatron a vision of what he’ll need to obtain in the future, and oh hey, it’s the golden record we placed on the Voyager I spacecraft to tell aliens about Earth! This is not only a real life object but also a significant MacGuffin that’s central to Beast Wars (the ’90s CGI Transformers show with the animals). In Beast Wars we learn Decepticon Megatron captured the disk, encoded a secret message on it, and the manmade object somehow became a Maximal relic in the future, where it was stolen by Predacon Megatron (the separate, purple T. rex guy), taken into Earth’s past, and used by the Predacons to try to alter prehistoric Earth to ensure a Decepticon victory in the future. Part of the first wave of Transformers Hero Mashers basic Action Figures, Starscream is a non-transforming action figure with ratchet-joints, about six inches tall. He has multiple peg-holes all over that can be used to mount any Hero Mashers accessory. As a first-wave figure, he has extra ankle articulation that is not present in later waves (a cut that was made to all Hero Mashers lines, not just the Transformers-branded ones). The waist/hip piece is different, featuring a similar shape to the equivalent piece on Siege Megatron but less greebles and mechanical details. Skywarp is a retool of the simultaneously released Alternity Starscream with a different head, transforming into a licensed 1:32 scale Mitsuoka Orochi. Like the other toys in the line, he features die-cast metal parts and rubber tires, as well as an opening hood, trunk and doors. This is also currently the only Alternity mold to feature a fake kibble chest.

This section covers fiction that is ongoing. It will be added to as the story progresses. If it isn't current, you can help by updating it. A planned-but-more-or-less-canceled redeco of Generation 2 Dreadwing, "Advanced Tactical Bomber" Megatron would have come with Starscream, a redeco of Dreadwing's partner Smokescreen. The pair can combine into the "flying wing" Advanced Tactical Bomber, while Starscream can detach to become a smaller solo jet, leaving Megatron to transform into a treaded tank mode. According the Toy Fair 1995 Transformers presentation, the toy's missiles are intended to glow in the dark. He was sold in an TakaraTomy Mall exclusive giftset of Grand Galvatron along with Tactician Cyclonus, Curse Armada Thrust, Zombie War Breakdown, and Wandering Roller. Subsequent reissues had more distinctive presentation, and this article strives to list each one under its own header. The long lifespan of his toy actually began in 1986, when Starscream remained part of the assortment for that year despite the departure of nearly every other 1984 toy from store shelves. The original Tonka GoBots Bug Bite transformed into a yellow Volkswagen Beetle, just like our familiar friend Bumblebee (but if Bumblebee transformed into a robot that has a windshield for a face), so in 2004, when Transformers released a set of recolored Mini-Vehicles including a white Bumblebee, the idea of naming them all after GoBots was flirted with, which… Hasbro now sort of half-owns. It’s complicated. It was ultimately decided to leave the individual toys unnamed on the box, out of concerns that Bandai (partial owner of GoBots intellectual property) would throw a fit.

Amusingly, the Decepticon symbol on his chest is ridiculously tiny, to the point where it's little more than a purple triangle.A Hobby Magazine issue revealed that his chest was redesigned during the prototype's production, allowing the parts to correctly sit flush. This is why "toxic" is a stupid, nebulous buzzword that should be excised from discussion. Unless it's about acid, poison, or other substances where the word has literal meaning and not this passive-aggressive non-descriptor that more or less translates to "you said something I disagree with so it doesn't count." War For Cybertron: Earthrise is a subline imprint of the Generations toyline, and the second portion of the War for Cybertron Trilogy. Though designated for a first quarter 2018 release, Starscream's wave reached U.S. store shelves in December 2017. Accessories: 5 alternate faces, Gun mode Megatron, 5 effect parts, 2-part stand base, stand arm, stand cradle, pincer, drill, asteroid fragment
